European leader hits Trump with biting response over snide remark on troops in Afghanistan

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk fired a pointed reminder at President Donald Trump about America's promises to Polish soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan.

Tusk, who has served as Poland’s prime minister since December 2023, took issue with Trump's recent comments. In a Thursday interview with Fox News from Davos, Trump questioned NATO allies' reliability, stating they've "never needed them" and that allies sent troops to Afghanistan but "stayed a little back, a little off the front lines."

Sources familiar with the investigation identified the suspect as 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe said he came to the U.S. in September 2021 through a Biden-era immigration program for Afghans who had worked with the U.S. government, reported the New York Times.

'Ultimate betrayal': MAGA influencer melts down as GOP lawmaker helps refugees

MAGA influencer Laura Loomer melted down Friday over claims that a Republican lawmaker worked to help house Afghan refugees at a Texas military base after the Taliban took over the country in 2021.

During the speech, Trump asserted that America's NATO allies stayed "a little off the front lines" in Afghanistan when the coalition joined U.S. forces to combat Al-Qaeda following the 9/11 attacks. Trump also questioned whether NATO would come to the U.S.'s defense again if it were called upon.

This single ICE detainment shows the depth of Trump's disgrace

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainment of J.R. Tucker High School student Armand Momand constitutes a constitutional outrage.

Because of his father’s service to the U.S. government in Afghanistan, Momand has legal U.S. immigration status. Yet ICE agents took him into custody Aug. 8 after convictions in an Henrico County court for driving more than 20 miles an hour over the speed limit and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.

This brutal invasion would horrify our nation's founders

The Twin Cities metropolitan area is under occupation by armed federal agents. According to the Census Reporter, there are roughly 3.7 million people living in the metro area and there may already be 3,000 militarized federal agents occupying our city. An additional 1,500 active duty troops from the army’s 11th Airborne Division are on standby, ready for deployment to Minnesota.

Let’s put that in perspective. During the last year of his first term, President Donald Trump negotiated a full withdrawal from Afghanistan, which at the time was a nation of 39 million people, to be completed in early 2021. In 2019, there were between 12,000 and 13,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan. At the start of the Biden administration, there were only 2,500 U.S. soldiers remaining there.
