'Lying about the evidence in all caps': Liz Cheney shoots down Trump’s biggest Jan. 6 lies

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) — who co-chaired the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack — publicly mocked former President Donald Trump while debunking his false claims about the deadly 2021 riot at the US Capitol.

This weekend will mark the third anniversary of the January 6 insurrection by a crowd of Trump supporters that resulted in five deaths and hundreds of injuries of US Capitol and DC Metropolitan police officers. Ahead of the attack's anniversary, Trump posted to his Truth Social platform that Cheney and House Democrats supposedly deleted records relating to the attack, and also repeated a debunked claim that then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) declined an offer of 10,000 National Guard troops to guard the capitol on the day of the riot.

'This is the Republican Party': Historian says Haley’s slavery flub was no accident

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is facing backlash after she failed to cite slavery as a cause of the Civil War during a town hall event in New Hampshire last week. She later clarified that “of course the Civil War was about slavery,” but her initial reluctance to say so is indicative of how Republican leaders have long avoided reckoning with the country’s past, says Harvard historian Khalil Gibran Muhammad. “Nikki Haley has consistently denied the relevance of the history of racism in this country and the presence of racism in this country,” he says. “This is the Republican Party.”

GOP pastor whines election 'stolen' from him — despite ballot fraud being for his benefit

A right-wing pastor whose congressional ambitions crashed and burned after a person paid by his campaign was found to have committed ballot fraud is now claiming his election was "stolen" from him.

The Assembly reports that Mark Harris, who last year announced he was once again going to run for Congress in North Carolina's 8th congressional district, now says Democrats "stole" the election from him in 2019, just like they supposedly did to former President Donald Trump, who legitimately lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden in both the popular vote and the electoral college.

'In danger': Ex-secretary of state urges full on fight to kick Josh Hawley out of Senate

Ousting Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) — notorious for his raised-fist gesture in solidarity with rioters on January 6, 2021 — should be a top priority for Democrats, according to his home state’s former secretary of state.

The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) revealed Wednesday that Rep. George Santos (R-NY), who was supposed to submit his financial disclosure form when he entered office, has now ignored a deadline for the fourth time.

While Santos was expelled from the House, it doesn't mean he is off the hook for his responsibilities, CREW explained. Those include filing annual financial disclosures. Santos is already dealing with several legal issues, including being charged with conspiracy, wire fraud, false statements, falsification of records, aggravated identity theft and credit card fraud, according to a Justice Department release.
