'You’re going to look ridiculous': Alina Habba lobs attacks at Colorado Supreme Court
SCOTUS will save Trump's try for a second White House term, according to the ex-president's attorney.
Following the Colorado Supreme Court's 4 to 3 ruling disqualifying former President Donald Trump from appearing on the state’s 2024 primary ballot is “not a constitutional decision" and "will be overturned by the Supreme Court," according to Trump attorney Alina Habba in an interview with Breitbart News Daily. “I have no question in my mind."
The esquire, who has been battling to defend Trump and his grown sons in a Lower Manhattan court from a $250 million civil fraud lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, believes there is an underlying effort afoot that is: Stopping Trump by whatever means necessary.
“I find it ironic that there’s a Jan. 6 charge pending, but due process doesn’t matter because Colorado’s liberal judges want to take him off the ballot because they can’t beat Biden in the ballots,” she said.

The Colorado court, citing the Civil War-era law Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, determined that the former president's actions in the "Stop The Steal" rally that occurred on Jan. 6, 2021 that exploded into a riot and siege of the Capitol while the certification of the presidential election was taking place were those of an insurrectionist and therefore he's ineligible to serve in office.
Habba suggested that the judges who sided with banning Trump from the primary ballot were attempting to see themselves as “pioneers for the liberal radical left.”
Such legal showboating she suspects will backfire.
“You’re not a pioneer," she told the outlet. "You’re going to look ridiculous. You do not understand due process. You do not understand the Constitution. You are literally a state-level court that is going to look ridiculous, okay, when the Supreme Court — whether you’re a federal judge or a state judge — when the Supreme Court overturns you, that’s not a good look."
Habba is banking on the nation's highest court to see reason and allow for Trump to be treated fairly.
"Due process exists for a reason. There has to be some America left,” she explained. “I’m not even concerned that the Supreme Court will make the right decision here."
