'Resurrected a dead Witch Hunt': Irate Trump rages at Jack Smith over re-indictment

Former President Donald Trump unleashed a tirade in a series of posts on his Truth Social account Tuesday against special counsel Jack Smith for bringing a superseding indictment against him.

"In an effort to resurrect a 'dead' Witch Hunt in Washington, D.C., in an act of desperation, and in order to save face, the illegally appointed 'Special Counsel' Deranged Jack Smith, has brought a ridiculous new Indictment against me, which has all the problems of the old Indictment, and should be dismissed IMMEDIATELY," wrote Trump. "His Florida Document Hoax Case has been completely dismissed."

‘Unimaginable is difficult to imagine’: New dystopian ad sparks debate on CNN

A CNN panel discussion turned into a debate over the realities of abortion in GOP-led red states now and across the country if Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump wins the November election and if he implements Project 2025 policies. Lincoln Project strategist Stuart Stevens smacked down CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings who attempted to mock the ad and its producers.

The Lincoln Project’s new ad, “State Line,” depicts a father in a dystopian America in the not-too-distant future under a Project 2025 abortion ban driving his daughter out of a red state to obtain medical services. A police officer pulls them over and starts to interrogate the daughter, having very personal and specific information about her pregnancy, her sister’s whereabouts, and the GPS coordinates of their destination “in one of those abortion states.”

An MSNBC legal analyst quickly reviewed what's different in the new superseding indictment handed down by a Washington, D.C. grand jury to the previous indictment filed last year by special counsel Jack Smith.

Two decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court complicated the existing indictment, even though the charges between the two remain the same. So, the grand jury handed Smith another option.

'Not messing around': Experts praise 'smart' Jack Smith for whittling down Trump case

Legal experts believe that special counsel Jack Smith has made the federal election interference case against former President Donald Trump far stronger in his superseding indictment revealed Tuesday, as it is now compliant with the Supreme Court's ruling earlier this summer that presidents have a presumption of immunity from prosecution for official acts.

Smith, who this week also appealed the dismissal of his other case against Trump over classified documents in Florida, tweaked the charges to remove references that Trump tried to order the Justice Department to carry out corrupt acts to obstruct the election. The references couldn't be proven under the Supreme Court's ruling because they rely on evidence that is immune from review.

RFK Jr.'s bid to help Trump appears to have hit a major snag

When former environmental lawyer and conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his independent presidential campaign and backed former President Donald Trump, he proclaimed he would take himself off the ballot in every battleground state, to avoid stealing votes from Trump.

Superseding indictment returned against Donald Trump

A Washington, D.C. grand jury has returned a superseding indictment against Donald Trump for his involvement in the attempts to overthrow the 2020 election.

Rudy Giuliani finds a new low: platforming a Nazi

Rudy Giuliani has fallen low in the four years since conducting a press conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Philadelphia, which kickstarted the former New York City mayor’s inglorious era of election denialism, indictments, lawsuits, disbarment, debt and bankruptcy.

It’s hard to imagine how the man once widely admired for leading his city in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack could fall any lower. It would take something like hosting a Nazi on his YouTube channel.
