‘Raw, unrelenting stupidity’: MSNBC host roasts Trump as ‘laziest' president in history
MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell delivered a verbal decimation of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, calling him “the laziest and stupidest president in history by far,” during his Thursday night broadcast.
“He is the only candidate for president today who did absolutely nothing today,” O’Donnell said. “There is no evidence that Donald Trump got out of bed today. He wouldn't have had to do that for the unhinged phone call he placed on a Fox propaganda network this morning.”
In that call, of which O’Donnell played a recording of, Trump derided Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris as “real garbage.” But few people, O’Donnell says, “better personify real garbage than Trump.”
“Everything out of Donald Trump's mouth is real garbage. He is a pollutant; he has polluted American politics,” O’Donnell said. “He is simultaneously stupid enough to believe the real garbage he spews and liar enough not to believe all of it.”

Trump subsequently backpedaled on a previously agreed-upon debate with Harris, who formerly prosecuted criminals as California’s attorney general. In a press statement addressing Trump’s call later that day, the Harris campaign simply referred to him as a “78-year-old criminal.”
“On most campaign days between now and Election Day the oldest, laziest, and stupidest presidential nominee in history will do absolutely nothing, but will probably manage to find the time on social media and otherwise to spew his garbage,” O’Donnell said. “His stupidity is both the most consistent and the most publicly damaging quality he has because it is his raw, unrelenting stupidity that lets him say things like this publicly.”
O’Donnell then played a clip of Trump mocking Harris at a recent campaign rally.
“I’m the prosecutor and he is the convicted felon,” Trump said mimicking Harris. “That is their campaign. I don’t think people are going to buy it."
"There’s nothing to buy," O’Donnell said, "because those are simply facts."
“Now the prosecutor wants her day in court, the court of public opinion, with the convicted felon,” O’Donnell said.
