FOX Biz senior correspondent Charles Gasparino, who reports on Trump often and earned the ire of MAGA when he recently reported that conservatives were wrong to suggest Trump outsmarted the world with tariffs, on Saturday took to social media to issue a breaking alert about the president's willingness to risk financial crisis in order to enact his biggest agenda items.

Former Trump official slapped down on CNN after retribution 'joke' falls flat

An attempt at what he called a joke on CNN didn't earn a former Donald Trump communications official any laughs on Sunday morning but it did get him a lecture.

During the panel segment on "State of the Union" with host Dana Bash, the topic turned to Donald Trump going after his perceived enemies as he promised before the 2024 election when said he would seek "retribution."

That prompted Mike Dubka to smirk and chime in with, "I will just say one thing. The ultimate retribution that we saw in the last year was Joe Biden on the Democratic Party by deciding that he was going to run for reelection. That was ultimate retribution."

"How is that retribution?" panelist Adrienne Elrod asked.

Pointing to fellow Republican Lance Trover, Dubka offered, "There's one panel member that gets that joke."

Former National Coalitions Director for Biden-Harris 2020 Ashley Allison wasn't having it.

'It's actually changing the definition of a word, which is what often happens when we spread mis and disinformation," she told the two conservative panelists. "Retribution is when you don't like what somebody says and so you use the power that you have through a democratic process or an authoritative process, and you go after people with the hope that you intimidate them to stand up against you."

"We should all agree retaliation, retribution –– Donald Trump said retribution," she added.

'Oh, come on!' GOP strategist snaps after Trump accused of destroying faith in government

GOP strategist Lance Trover took offense on CNN on Sunday morning after Democrat Adrienne Elrod shot down his argument that voters love the destruction Donald Trump is bringing down upon government institutions.

During the panel segment on "State of the Union," Trover cited polling that shows American voters have little to no trust in the government and that Trump is changing that by being a "norm buster," before adding, "And I think the voters are giving him a lot of leeway."

He continued, "The Democrats should let Trump kind of see what he can do. So I think, when it comes to busting norms, our faith in our institutions hovers around 20 percent, I think for the federal government, when it comes to universities, maybe 30 percent. So I think, with voters, they're out there saying, yeah, let's give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do, because the incremental change has not been working.

After asserting, "I think for a lot of people they want a hammer and not a scalpel," Elrod jumped in and told him, "Faith in our institutions is eroded because of Donald Trump."

That brought about an incredulous, "Oh, come on!" from Trover.

"He has literally tried to convince the American people that our institutions are broken when they're not," she persisted. "I mean they are broken to an extent right now because of Donald Trump, but he is the one who is ––."

"How do you get to a 20 percent approval rating?" Trover interrupted.

"I'm not saying that Democrats don't have their issues, too," she explained. "But Donald Trump is the reason why he, and the MAGA institution, is the reason why people have lost so much faith in our institutions. And to your point, that is why I think he thinks he can go out there and not allow Kilmar Abrego Garcia to have due process, you know, defy court orders. He is the one who is perpetuating this, and he is the reason why people are losing faith."

Trump uses his Easter message to flip out on 'weak judges' and 'radical left lunatics'

As is his custom on national holidays, Donald Trump used his "Happy Easter" message on Truth Social to attack his perceived enemies and air out his general grievances.

On Sunday morning, the president wrote, "Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, the Mentally Insane, and well known MS-13 Gang Members and Wife Beaters, back into our Country. Happy Easter also to the WEAK and INEFFECTIVE Judges and Law Enforcement Officials who are allowing this sinister attack on our Nation to continue, an attack so violent that it will never be forgotten! "

He then added, "Sleepy Joe Biden purposefully allowed Millions of CRIMINALS to enter our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, through an Open Borders Policy that will go down in history as the single most calamitous act ever perpetrated upon America. He was, by far, our WORST and most Incompetent President, a man who had absolutely no idea what he was doing --."

"But to him, and to the person that ran and manipulated the Auto Pen (perhaps our REAL President!), and to all of the people who CHEATED in the 2020 Presidential Election in order to get this highly destructive Moron Elected, I wish you, with great love, sincerity, and affection, a very Happy Easter!!!" he concluded.

GOP lawmaker repeatedly ducks questions about Trump deporting US citizens to El Salvador

On Sunday morning, Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) was asked three times on CNN about Donald Trump's desire to send U.S. citizens to a maximum security prison in El Salvador only to completely duck answering in each instance.

Appearing "State of the Union" with host Dana Bash, the Republican from Minnesota stuck to his talking points about the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Gracia despite court orders to "facilitate" his return, which led the CNN host to ask about Trump expressing a desire to treat Americans citizens in the same way.

"I want to ask you about another idea that President Trump is floating, he's done so repeatedly, and that's the idea of deporting U.S. citizens convicted of violent crimes to El Salvador," Bash began. "You're not only a lawmaker, you are an attorney: do you think the federal government has any legal authority to do that with American citizens?"

"I think right now, what he's doing is absolutely legal, which is removing those that do not have legal status in this country that have proven to be the worst of the worst," Emmer replied before veering off and attacking Democrats.

"What about the idea that the White House says that it is looking into whether or not U.S. citizens who are convicted of violent crimes can be imprisoned in El Salvador?" Bash pressed.

"Well, again, what they're focused on and what you and I are focusing on is what's actually happening, which is deporting terrorist cartel members, rapists, murderers, the worst of the worst is exactly what Donald Trump promised during the campaign," he demurred. "And that's why 77 million people elected him to follow through on this promise and that's what they're doing."

"Okay, I just want to give you one more chance to say whether or not you're okay with U.S. citizens, the idea of it, I know it's not happening, but he has actively said more than once that they are looking into it. Would you be okay with that?" Bash asked again.

"Yeah, again, the issue that we're dealing with is, I've got a president who wants to protect U.S. citizens from violence, from crime, having their children, solicited, murdered, et cetera versus Democrats who seem to want to protect illegal aliens in this country for whatever reason."
