Fox News' Jesse Watters hammered over affair as he attacks candidate: 'Sit this one out'

Fox News host Jesse Watters attacked a Democratic candidate for being unmarried — and onlookers were quick to point out that the anchor had an affair with his own producer — suggesting he might not be an authority on marriage or fidelity.

Watters was talking about Texas Democratic Senate candidate, Rep. James Talarico, who conservatives have increasingly attacked in recent days. Watters started taking personal shots at Talarico during the live broadcast on Wednesday night.

"He's also 37 and not married, let's get into this. He says, just recently, that he has a girlfriend and they've been together for four years and he called her his best friend and she was his rock, and he's not revealing her identity because he wants to respect her privacy and keep her safe during the campaign," Watters said....

The House Ethics Committee confirmed on Thursday that it's launching an investigation into an embattled Republican congressman accused of sexual harassment.

Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-NC) will have to face a review of allegations that he "created or fostered a hostile work environment and engaged in sexual harassment," according to a statement by the Ethics Committee.

Earlier this month, Axios broke the story that Edwards, 65 and married since 1980, gave personal gifts and vacations to two female staffers in their 20s. He's also been accused of having a long-term affair with his former deputy chief of staff, and recent reporting details how he choked up and became tearful while reading a poem he had written for a departing staffer at her office-wide going-away party — an unusually elaborate send-off that sources told Axios made the rest of the office deeply uncomfortable....

Why the Ashley Madison hack should be ignored

When I was 19, I walked in on my first "love" sleeping with someone else. As he was mid-thrust in breaking up our relationship, I was blindsided and horrified by the whole experience. Looking back today I’m not quite sure how I calmly walked away and never looked back.
