Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) argued this week that the rising cost of living has become a genuine crisis for ordinary Americans — and a serious political liability for President Donald Trump heading into the November midterms.

Her comments were highlighted by CBS News correspondent Scott MacFarlane, who framed the affordability crunch as "a political albatross for Team Trump" that "endangers GOP majorities in November." MacFarlane shared video of Ocasio-Cortez explaining why she believes the problem is so severe for the administration.

Ocasio-Cortez didn't mince words last week when she told her Instagram followers to “Laugh at them! Stephen Miller is a clown! I’ve never seen that guy in real life, but he looks like he’s, like, 4′10″.”

Democratic lawmakers weighed in on the Trump vs. Musk saga that erupted on social media Thursday, with some delighting in the chaos and others using it to bring attention to important issues like energy and health care.

Musk's post claiming, "Without me, Trump would have lost the election," prompted Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to post, "Donald, without @elonmusk, you wouldn't be President now. You'd be a Prisoner."

Progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) marked President Donald Trump's first 100 days in office by applauding Americans who are "standing up" against his social policies, economic upheaval, and government cuts.

A fundraising email signed by "AOC's Team" began, "We won’t mince words: the first 100 days of Trump’s second term haven’t been easy. But people across the country are standing up against his attacks on the working class," adding that "Trump’s fascist agenda has already incurred over 200 lawsuits and obstacles."

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) received a surprising defense from a Trump-supporting attorney after "border czar" Tom Homan threatened to investigate her for allegedly impeding law enforcement.

Homan repeated Sunday that he asked the Department of Justice to look into Ocasio-Cortez's recent live webinar called "Know Your Rights With ICE," where migrants were advised on what to do if confronted by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

"I asked the Department of Justice, where is that line on impediment, right? It's a broad statute," Homan told CNN's Dana Bash. "Because you can call it 'Know Your Rights' all you want. We all know what the bottom line is. The bottom line is, how do they evade law enforcement?" ...
