White House zeroes in on dark horse candidate that could make Mike Johnson's woes worse

Trump administration insiders revealed that a dark horse candidate has emerged as a potential nominee to lead the Food and Drug Administration as Republican lawmakers have fled Congress, according to reports on Tuesday.

Former Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) lost his Senate primary in 2025 and plans to leave Congress at the end of this year, NOTUS reported.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and House Republicans have been facing a cascade of primary defeats and a wave of vacated seats, promotions, and retirements....

CNN anchor torches Republican in fiery clash over Trump's broken war vow: 'Be clear'

A Republican lawmaker and CNN anchor got in a heated back-and-forth over President Donald Trump's promises and the Iran war during a live segment on Wednesday.

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar pressed Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) to respond to Trump's previous comments and promises not to enter any new wars amid growing unpopularity among Americans over the administration's military operation in the Middle East. She also asked if he thinks Trump, who he had nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2025, still deserves it.

"Absolutely. He negotiated a deal between Pakistan and Iraq, two nuclear nations," Carter said....

'Lost their minds!' GOP wants to strip Dem colleagues of key roles after ICE protest

Three Democratic lawmakers could lose their committee seats after rushing into a New Jersey detention facility last week in support of undocumented migrants being held by ICE, Fox News Digital reported Tuesday.

Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) introduced a resolution on Tuesday that would remove Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ) from the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Rob Menendez Jr. (D-NJ) from the House Energy & Commerce Committee, and Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) from the House committees on Small Business and Homeland Security, the report said.

Carter told the outlet, "The radical left has lost their minds – they would rather raid an ICE facility to defend criminal illegal immigrants than represent their own constituents. This behavior constitutes an assault on our brave ICE agents and undermines the rule of law. The three members involved in this stunt do not deserve to sit on committees alongside serious lawmakers."...

'Are they dumb?' Critics let loose as Republican introduces bill to rename Greenland

Greenland could be renamed "Red, White and Blueland" if a GOP lawmaker gets his way and Donald Trump is able to absorb the Arctic island into the United States.

Trump has repeatedly stated his intention to take over the Danish territory for national security purposes despite Danish officials insisting the sparsely populated land is not for sale.

Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) put forth a bill Tuesday called the "Red, White, and Blueland Act of 2025." According to the Post, the act "directs the secretary of the interior’s team to ensure federal paperwork gets updated to the new name and gives a six-month deadline to complete that task."...

'Whoa, whoa, whoa!' CNN anchor loses it over claims US sent condoms to the Taliban

There was some confusion Thursday on the set of CNN's "News Central" when Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) claimed the U.S. has spent millions of dollars on condoms for the Taliban.

Carter is on the DOGE Caucus, charged with finding inefficiencies in government spending, and his assertion took anchor Boris Sanchez aback.

Carter claimed, "The U.S. aid that was cut off should have been cut off. I mean, $15 million in condoms for the Taliban? $47,000 for a transgender opera in Columbia? Please!" ...

Busted: 62 members of Congress caught breaking the law

At least 62 members of 118th Congress have violated a federal insider trading and conflicts-of-interest law, a Raw Story analysis of congressional financial disclosures reveals.

Most of these violations involve failures to properly disclose stock trades as required by the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act of 2012. Some involve not abiding by the transparency and personal financial disclosure requirements first outlined in the STOCK Act's post-Watergate predecessor, the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.
