Trump is leaving business executives and CEOs confused and uncertain about whether they're invited to cooperate with China, according to a new report.

“The president is ‘wheels up’ in about a week," Sean Stein, the president at the US-China Business Council, told Politico in a Thursday piece, referring to an upcoming summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. "There are still CEOs waiting to find out if they will be part of the president's trip."

According to Politico, the White House spent "weeks" deciding how many business executives and CEOs to bring to the summit, and started sending out invitations. The Trump administration is divided over "how much to encourage private sector engagement with its biggest economic rival." ...

Former wives of tech leaders have told a longtime journalist that they sensed something was off when they visited late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's island.

Technology journalist and podcast host Kara Swisher told a CNN panel on Wednesday that several people have come to her and shared their experiences about interactions with Epstein and concerns about what was happening at the time on Little Saint James, his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

"And by the way, other - let me tell you, during that time, a lot of those tech people went, and the only people who ever said things to me were often the wives of those people — now the ex-wives," Swisher said. ...

President Donald Trump asked top CEOs for their solutions on how to navigate affordability for Americans while apparently forecasting an economic boom in the U.S. that he compared to the Reagan and Clinton eras.

The president held a private dinner at the White House on Wednesday with several top CEOs from Wall Street and corporate America, including JPMorgan Chase chief Jamie Dimon, Larry Fink of Blackrock, Ted Pick of Morgan Stanley, David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Nasdaq’s Adena Friedman and Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman, according to The New York Post. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick were also there.

“He spoke a lot about affordability and what we can do from a market perspective to address it,” one CEO told The Post....

A CNBC survey of business executives revealed an overwhelming majority expected an economic recession as a result of the Trump tariffs, with one calling the whole situation, "disproportionally stupid and illogical."

The business network reported the results of a "CEO flash survey" it conducted among its CNBC Council members including 22 chief executives. According to the report, 69 percent said they expected a recession, with more than half predicting the economic decline would occur this year. Three-quarters of those CEOs described the coming recession as "moderate or mild," the survey showed.

One CEO labeled it "the Trump recession."...
