The New York City Fire Department has welcomed a transgender woman to its male-dominated team. The New York Post reported she is the first transgender firefighter in the city's history.
Requiring residents outside of city limits to pay a $75 fee for fire protection is an ill-advised and unsafe policy, according to the International Association of Fire Fighters.
