A GOP senator accidentally called President Donald Trump's biggest success the "scandal of my lifetime" with his comments on Fox News.

Sen. Ron Johnson spoke with Fox News on Wednesday about COVID vaccinations in light of the recent testimony by Anthony Fauci. He told anchor Laura Ingraham that "these injections cause death" and that the COVID vaccine is the "great government scandal of my lifetime."

However, online critics noted that Trump boasted in the past that his first administration rolled out the COVID vaccines and that Johnson's comments amounted to calling Trump's success a scandal....

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, is launching an investigation into former National Institutes of Health director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

According to Politico, Uthmeier's boss, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, has concocted a bizarre legal theory for why Fauci, who testified before a hostile GOP-dominated Senate committee on Wednesday, was not allowed to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights under questioning from Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).

"Uthmeier has launched several investigations since he was appointed by DeSantis in February 2025, from suing health organizations over the state’s ban on transgender treatments for children to recruiting rules used by the NFL," noted the report. This follows DeSantis writing "in a Wednesday X post the former White House adviser cannot claim the Fifth Amendment since he received a preemptive pardon by Biden, and he should be held in contempt for not answering Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul’s questions about U.S. funding going to a lab in a region of China where the first Covid cases were reported."...

The White House is expected to withdraw Dr. Janette Nesheiwat's nomination for U.S. Surgeon General following complaints from far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, according to a new ABC News report.

Loomer posted to X on Wednesday, "Hearing reports that @DoctorJanette Dr. Janette Nesheiwat’s nomination for US Surgeon General has been pulled by President Trump. Her Senate confirmation hearing was set to take place tomorrow."

Loomer linked to her own "exclusive investigation" into Nesheiwat, calling her "unfit" to serve as Surgeon General due to "medical malpractice, promotion of DEI-focused initiatives implemented through City M.D., and her advocacy for the China Virus 'vaccine.'"...

Health advocates sounded the alarm when President Donald Trump first nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, due to his controversial stance on vaccines and a penchant for promoting conspiracy theories. Now, the conservative Wall Street Journal Editorial Board is slamming the administration for allowing Kennedy to operate largely unfettered.

On Monday, the board stated that some Senate Republicans who voted to confirm RFK Jr. "hoped that other Trump HHS appointees — e.g., FDA Commissioner Marty Makary and National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya — would keep Mr. Kennedy in check. It isn’t working out that way."

One of the more disturbing actions, according to the board, revolves around Kennedy's potential choice of longtime vaccine critic David Geier as "senior data analyst" with a new CDC study on vaccines and autism, although the White House did not confirm Geier's involvement....

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is on the receiving end of attention from COVID vaccine conspiracy theorists after suffering from a medical emergency.

According to Jason Salzman of the Colorado Times Recorder, "In the days after U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a blood clot that threatened her life, the online underworld swirled with speculation that the clot resulted from Boebert receiving a COVID vaccination."

In a recent interview with local radio host Jay Dee, the far-right lawmaker told the anti-vaccine crowd this was false — and reminded them that she was one of them....
