Companies and lobbyists with business before Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy have poured cash into his son-in-law's congressional campaign.

In a Thursday article, The Bulwark reported that Michael Alfonso, a Republican running for Congress in Wisconsin, has collected donations from transportation executives, corporate PACs, and lobbyists who have sought or won favorable decisions from Duffy's Department of Transportation.

Alfonso is married to Duffy's daughter, Evita, and at 26 years old, he would become the youngest member of Congress if elected, The Bulwark noted....

According to a Thursday report by MeidasTouch, "almost nobody is watching" Duffy's six-episode reality show, "Great American Road Trip," which features his wife and nine children traveling with him through several states. The show has been criticized for its questionable funding sources and for showing off Duffy's road trip vacation while Americans struggle to afford gas and groceries.

The show aired on Wednesday, and after 24 hours, the six episodes had accumulated only about 5,400 views combined, according to MeidasTouch. The most-viewed episode was Duffy's Philadelphia episode, which had 2,300 views, and his Charleston and Arizona episodes drew fewer than 500 viewers each, MeidasTouch reported....

The idea of Trump's name going on a New York City landmark has resurfaced after a Cabinet secretary's letter, per reports.

The New York Daily News reported that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy sent a letter to Senate leadership on several committees on Wednesday that lists the renaming of New York Penn Station as part of the "administration priorities."

Duffy wrote that the Trump administration intends to "direct Amtrak to rename New York Penn Station," per the Daily News. The idea of Trump's name going on Penn Station has long been suggested, including in internal renderings of an overhaul showing "President Donald J. Trump" etched into marble. ...

A Trump official's "wholesome" family road trip reality show was bankrolled by companies that he regulates in his Cabinet-level position, according to a new report.

"Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy's glamorous road trip across the U.S. was paid for by corporate titans," The New Republic reported on Thursday. "The money came from a supposedly independent nonprofit...behind the nonprofit's funding is a medley of industry giants, including aircraft manufacturer Boeing, carmaker Toyota, and gas giant Shell."

Duffy filmed an upcoming reality show, The Great American Roadtrip, that documented a seven-month road trip he took with his wife and nine children. It will feature "really wholesome, good family stuff," his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, said, according to the report. ...
