A lawyer who worked for Donald Trump's White House says the 45th president is guilty as sin and it's all spelled out in a ruling from last year — before the case virtually went to sleep in U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon's court.

Ty Cobb appeared on CNN's "Out Front" on Wednesday to weigh in on the federal criminal case accusing Trump of hoarding the documents and obstructing the recovery of them by the feds.

Judge Aileen Cannon, the jurist overseeing Donald Trump's criminal case over stashed documents in Florida, has some harsh words for the prosecutors in that case in a new filing Sunday.

Cannon, who has been criticized for purportedly slow-playing the federal case over the former president's alleged hoarding and refusal to return confidential documents from the White House, has become known for her rulings for Trump, and against Special Counsel Jack Smith, who brought the case. This weekend was no different.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has given former President Donald Trump permission to skip a hearing in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case in Florida, because of the ongoing criminal hush money trial in Manhattan.

According to Law & Crime, "Early Friday afternoon, the 45th president’s attorneys filed an unopposed motion seeking leave from the court to skip a May 22 hearing that is focused on two motions to dismiss the indictment filed by co-defendant Waltine 'Walt' Nauta, 41, Trump’s personal valet. The defense motion notes that Trump had 'previously scheduled travel outside of' southern Florida because he is 'on trial in Manhattan Supreme Court' over hush-money-related allegations."

Special counsel Jack Smith did not object to the request, and Cannon swiftly granted it....

Judge Aileen Cannon just did something "contrary to what the law directs judges to do," a former federal prosecutor said on Sunday.

Ex-prosecutor Joyce Vance, a legal analyst who frequently appears on MSNBC, over the weekend highlighted recent actions by Cannon, who is overseeing Donald Trump's criminal documents case out of Florida. Cannon has been accused of slow-walking the case, and her earlier decisions in the investigation phase of the case were reversed on appeal.

Vance wrote for her Civil Discourse blog on Substack that there "was little doubt before last week that federal Judge Aileen Cannon was determined to delay Trump’s criminal case in front of her—the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case—until after the election."...

Donald Trump recently accused Special Counsel Jack Smith of "evidence tampering" in connection with the criminal documents case in Florida, but the alleged issue stems from something the former president did, a New York Times reporter said Saturday.

Trump Friday railed against the classified documents criminal case he faces in the sunshine state, accusing Smith of evidence tampering and demanding the entire case be dropped.

"It has always been clear that the 'Documents Case' is nothing but an Election Interference Scam concocted by Crooked Joe Biden, Deranged Jack Smith, and their Hacks and Thugs," he said before he alleged misconduct on behalf of the prosecutors....
