New York (AFP) - Nine days after Donald Trump announced he was about to be arrested over a hush-money payment to a porn star, the world still awaits what would be one of the most famous police mugshots in history.  The Republican former US president, who has never been shy about grabbing the limelight, sent newsrooms in the United States and beyond into a spin on March 18 when he announced he was three days away from being brought before a New York judge. Trump, it turned out, had bad information or was simply guessing, and his equally baseless claim a week later that the case had been dropped......

Los Angeles (AFP) - The armorer on the set of "Rust" sued the film's ammunition supplier Wednesday, accusing him of leaving real bullets among the dummy cartridges, resulting in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was the armorer in charge of weapons on the Western movie set in New Mexico, where actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot Halyna Hutchins in October after being told his firearm was safe. Film industry safety rules completely prohibit live ammunition on sets, precisely to avoid such an accident. In her civil suit filed Wednesday in a New Mexico court, Gutierrez-Re......

Fifty years after his leap into the unknown, the case of D.B. Cooper -- an alias spawned by the media -- remains the only unsolved plane hijacking in the history of the United States. The US Federal Bureau of Investig......

Los Angeles (AFP) - The mysterious deaths of a family and their dog on a California hiking trail were baffling investigators Monday, almost a week after their bodies were found. Autopsies on John Gerrish, 45, his wife Ellen Chung, 31, and their one-year-old daughter, Miju, found no signs of attack and no obvious poisoning. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Gerrish was sitting with the dog and child, while Chung was found few steps away at the spot in Devil's Gulch, a part of the Sierra National Forest in the north of the state. "You come on scene and everyone is deceased," Sheriff Jere......
