Washington (AFP) - A Texas man is to be executed Wednesday for a double murder he insists he did not commit, in a case that has drawn the attention of the Catholic Church and celebrities Kim Kardashian and Martin Sheen. Ivan Cantu, 50, who was convicted of the 2000 murders of his cousin and his cousin's fiancee, is one of two inmates scheduled to be put to death by lethal injection in the United States on Wednesday. Washington (AFP) - A man convicted of murder was put to death in the midwestern US state of Missouri on Tuesday in an execution that his 19-year-old daughter was barred from witnessing. Kevin Johnson, a 37-year-old African American man, was sentenced to death for the 2005 murder of a white policeman in a suburb of St Louis.
