An immigrant expert on Friday flagged an unusual detail in President Donald Trump's new birthright citizenship order.

David J. Bier, Cato Institute Director of Immigration Studies, argued in a lengthy X thread that the order has unprecedented consequences for citizenship.

"The new birthright citizenship order is way more bizarre than anyone is saying. 1) The text requires agencies to deny CURRENT US CITIZENS citizenship docs if either parent 'IS' an alien enemy, foreign govt employee, regardless of their status at birth," Bier wrote on X....

Lawmakers across the United States hit out at Donald Trump after he signed an executive order that would hinder mail-in ballots ahead of the midterm elections.

The president signed an executive order yesterday (March 31) to hinder mail-in ballots and create a list of eligible voters. The order comes shortly after infighting over the SAVE Act, which would require voters to present identification. Trump has said previously that the SAVE Act is his number one priority, but an executive order recently passed by the president has issued a similar, "foolproof" order, Time reported.

He added, "Maybe it’ll be tested. Maybe it won’t." Lawmakers from across the country may challenge the order, with Tobias Read, the Secretary of State for Oregon, issuing a warning to Trump earlier today (April 1)."...

A secret 17-page draft has been circulating among pro-Trump activists and the White House that would potentially give President Donald Trump the path to "unlock extraordinary presidential power over voting," a The Washington Post report revealed Thursday.

The draft executive order claims that China interfered in the 2020 election, which would justify Trump declaring a national emergency, according to The Post. Trump has pushed a scheme to mandate voter ID and launch a ban on mail-in ballots for the midterm elections.

The pro-Trump activists tell The Post they expect the draft will play a role in Trump's "promised executive order." The White House has reportedly not commented. ...

The MAGA law group America First Legal (AFL) is suing Cracker Barrel restaurants for alleged discriminatory employment practices over the company's promotion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), according to The New York Post.

AFL filed complaints Monday with the Tennessee Attorney General and the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC), citing documents and reports alleging the company "maintains illegal DEI frameworks."

The filings also chastised Cracker Barrel, which prides itself on its Southern country theme, for "rebranding its dedicated DEI website to 'Culture and Belonging,' arguing that the name change did not halt Cracker Barrel from using 'diversity' as a proxy for race or sex," the report said....

At a cabinet meeting Tuesday, President Donald Trump floated the idea of imposing a 200% tariff rate on pharmaceuticals, which could cause the cost of medications to skyrocket.

"We'll be announcing something very soon on pharmaceuticals," Trump said. "We're gonna give people about a year, a year-and-a-half to come in, and after that, they're gonna be tariffed if they have to bring the pharmaceuticals into the country — the drugs and other things into the country — they're going to be tariffed at a very high rate, like 200 percent. We'll give them a certain period of time to get their act together."

Forbes reported that the enormous tariff rate, "could affect some $200 billion in imports and raise prices on Americans’ medications if it takes effect."...
