'Struggling' Trump spirals as 'usual playbook' fails to get him out of jam: report

President Donald Trump's proven method for getting out of a scandal he claims is a "hoax" or a "witch hunt" is falling flat this time around mostly because of his own doing, according to The New Republic.

Writer Matt Ford posited that Trump is "struggling to an unusual degree" as he's unable to shake his association with sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein because of his very own executive orders.

"It is striking how poorly his usual playbook will work for the Epstein files debacle," Ford wrote, adding that Trump "cannot credibly claim that he is the victim of some kind of 'witch hunt,' even though he is trying to do so."...

Supreme Court weighs in on Fani Willis' request to delay Mark Meadows case

The U.S. Supreme Court granted Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis an extension until Sept. 30 to address an appeal by Donald Trump's former chief of staff.

Mark Meadows reached out to Georgia state officials and even attempted to break into the counting for Fulton County ballots after the 2020 election. He was charged for his involvement, along with 18 others, including Donald Trump, in a sprawling racketeering case.

Willis filed her lawsuit a year ago last week. It stalled after a Trump ally alleged impropriety because Willis dated one of the lawyers later hired. ...

'Be looking over your shoulder': Trump supporter admits phoning threats to Fani Willis

An Alabama man reportedly pleaded guilty to sending threatening phone calls to Fulton County, Georgia, prosecutor Fani Willis over her prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

Arthur Ray Hanson II, a 58-year-old insurance salesman from Huntsville, told federal magistrate judge Regina Cannon, “I made a stupid phone call. I’m not a violent person," reported Ashley Quincin for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He went on to say: "I didn’t knowingly know I was threatening anybody" and realized what he'd done when FBI agents showed up at his house. He said he acted out of anger in the moment, and “I’m not a law breaker. I just lost it.”...

Trump's Georgia prosecutor unveils the 'only thing' he regrets in election subversion case

Nathan Wade doesn't regret much.

The former special prosecutor at the center of former President Donald Trump and 18 other defendants' Georgia 2020 election subversion case only wishes the "timing" of his romance with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was different.

"Probably bad," Wade said during a lengthy sit-down interview with CNN's Kaitlan Collins on "The Source." "It was bad timing but you don't pick and choose when those things happen. ...

'Doomed': Experts say Trump election racketeering case just heard its 2024 death knell

A Georgia appeals court Wednesday sounded the death knell for former president and convicted felon Donald Trump's Georgia election racketeering case, legal experts said Wednesday. At least, for 2024.

The Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia issued this stunning blow with an order staying Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' case until Trump's challenge to her prosecution is resolved.

"That’s a wrap on Fulton County until 2025," Atlanta attorney Anthony Michael Kreis wrote on X....

Georgia judges put Trump racketeering trial on hold while Fani Willis appeal advances

The Georgia election racketeering case brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is officially on hold.

On Wednesday, the Georgia Court of Appeals issued a formal ruling that stays all trial proceedings for the time being, against both Trump and several of the other co-defendants who have not taken a plea deal.

Among those also facing an indefinite reprieve from trial until the matter is resolved, include former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former Georgia GOP chief David Shafer, former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, Trump ally and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and a variety of other GOP strategists and operatives....
