'Very bad thing to say': Conservative pollster hits Trump after eyebrow-raising comment

Conservative pollster Frank Luntz, who appeared on CNN to talk about voter confidence in the GOP amid the current economy, appeared shocked at President Donald Trump's admonition that Americans not act "stupid" over his sweeping tariffs.

On Monday, as many people panicked over the tanking stock markets, Trump posted to Truth Social, "The United States has a chance to do something that should have been done DECADES AGO. Don’t be Weak! Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!). Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!"

CNN's Boris Sanchez asked Luntz about the 2026 mid-term elections and whether Trump's economic policies could detract voters. ...

'He needs to listen': GOP pollster urges Trump to stop blowing off warnings

Republican pollster Frank Luntz issued a warning to Donald Trump just hours before the president was set to announce his "liberation day" tariffs that experts say threaten to drain Americans' bank accounts as they shop for everyday items.

Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, told CNBC Wednesday that Trump's sweeping tariffs "will throw the global economy into turmoil and leave Americans holding the bag." But Trump appeared to be plowing full steam ahead.

Luntz, who spoke with CNN's Boris Sanchez Wednesday, called the United States a "polarized and angry country" that's only going to get more unstable as the Trump tariffs drag on. ...

'Putz': ABC News called out for having GOP 'propagandist' speak about political division

ABC News was called out by a former employee and several other viewers on Sunday after platforming a controversial Republican pollster to talk about division in U.S. politics.

Republican strategist Frank Luntz, who previously predicted that "voters will resent" Trump after he was found liable for business fraud, appeared on ABC over the weekend. The spot was hosted by chief global affairs correspondent Martha Raddatz, and it focused on the upcoming presidential debate between Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.

“If we have another reaction like that first 2020 debate, where the two candidates just go at each other, at some point, our system breaks," Luntz said on the show. "Our democracy comes undone.”

GOP pollster tells Letitia James how she might accidentally 'elect Donald Trump'

Conservative pollster Frank Luntz broke the fourth wall to warn New York Attorney General Letitia James to hold off seizing Trump's stuff.

"And I say this to the Attorney General right now," he said, aiming his right index finger into the CNN studio camera. "If you play politics on this, this is what the Secretary of State did in Colorado and what they did in I believe Maine -- his numbers went up in both states."

"I don't understand. I'm almost speechless. And how pathetic the opposition to Trump has been, and how completely misguided — this is a perfect example of it." ...

'This is significant': GOP pollster says 'voters will resent' Trump after latest judgment

Donald Trump's loyal fans have stood by him through thick and thin, but this latest legal judgment may spell the beginning of the end to that, according to a Republican pollster.

Republican strategist Frank Luntz, who previously confronted an election denier, appeared Saturday on CNN Newsroom With Fredricka Whitfield, where he was asked about the implications of a recent fraud judgment in which the ex-president was ordered to pay hundreds of millions of dollars and limit his business practices in the entire state of New York.

"If he does decide to rely on PAC money and donations to help pay some of those bills, how might that impact his political campaign?" the host asked of Luntz. ...
