Former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) has made Ohio Democrats an unusual promise.

Former Republican lawmaker George Santos is under fire Friday as MAGA loyalists are accusing him of betraying President Donald Trump by making an early endorsement for 2028.

“If [Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)] runs in 2028 I will crawl through glass to vote for her and campaign for her just like I did for President Trump,” wrote Santos, who was recently released from prison after his sentence was commuted by Trump, in a social media post on X Friday.

Santos was quickly dog-piled online by those who characterized the endorsement as a betrayal to Trump, who commuted his sentence last month and has already endorsed the idea of Vice President JD Vance running for president in 2028....

A Republican political figure was mocked on social media after he expressed outrage at Donald Trump's latest move.

Specifically, former George W. Bush administration White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, a Fox News contributor who served as press secretary under then-President Bush from January 2001 to July 2003, was confused as to why Trump commuted the prion sentence of disgraced GOP ex-lawmaker George Santos.

"Why? This is a mistake," Fleischer wrote on social media over the weekend. "Wire fraud and identity theft are serious crimes."...

Federal prosecutors used disgraced former Rep. George Santos's (R-NY) social media posts against him in a court filing Thursday as they seek a lengthy prison sentence for fraud.

Santos pleaded guilty last August to 23 federal fraud charges of stealing state unemployment money and using his donors' credit card information for personal gain.

Most of these violations involve failures to properly disclose stock trades as required by the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act of 2012.
