Jimmy Kimmel says he was blindsided by Trump jab after president's Grammy rant

Jimmy Kimmel says he had not expected Donald Trump to take a swipe at him when responding to questions in the White House.

The president had been fielding questions in the Oval Office and hit out at Grammy Awards show host Trevor Noah, but also included a jab at talk show host Kimmel. Trump would later make a lengthy Truth Social post about Noah, who had made a joke about the president and Jeffrey Epstein.

Noah said when hosting the show, "Song of the Year - that is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein's island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton."...

Furious Trump ridiculed for threatening to sue Grammy's host Trevor Noah over stinging jab

The internet Monday didn't hold back from mocking President Donald Trump after he threatened to sue comedian and Grammy Awards show host Trevor Noah over a searing joke.

Noah took a few jabs at Trump during the Sunday night awards show in Hollywood honoring the music industry, including one about term limits, Nicki Minaj and Trump's physique and another about late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — something that particularly stung for the president. Noah's reference to Epstein and the president's relationship with him came up during the tee up to the song of the year award.

“That is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense … because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton,” Noah said. ...

Trump denies visiting Epstein Island in Truth Social post criticizing Grammy Awards

Donald Trump has denied he ever visited Epstein Island in a Truth Social post criticizing this year's Grammy Awards show.

The president posted a lengthy statement on February 2 regarding a joke made by Trevor Noah. Trump has since suggested he will contact his legal team over the comment made by show host Noah.

Trump wrote, "The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer. The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards. Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. ...

Taylor Swift primed to make music history at eclectic Grammys

Los Angeles (AFP) - Taylor Swift's name is on everyone's lips as music's glitterati descend on Los Angeles for Sunday's Grammys, but with one of the more eclectic nomination fields in recent memory, the prestigious awards are anyone's game. Women make up the vast majority of the contenders for the top Best Album and Best Record prizes, with just one man, the jazz polymath Jon Batiste, in the running. The genre-bending SZA has the most chances at Grammy gold at nine, with Billie Eilish, the supergroup boygenius, and -- of course -- Swift all in tight contention for the major prizes. Olivia Rodr......

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi honored at pre-Grammy gala

Los Angeles (AFP) - Bruce Springsteen played a blistering duet with Jon Bon Jovi to honor the latter artist at a pre-Grammy gala Friday, as superstars including Paul McCartney danced along to an event heavy on New Jersey pride.  The two rock icons had the crowd on its feet for rollicking renditions of Bon Jovi's hit "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and Springsteen's "The Promised Land."   The star-studded gala in Los Angeles is an annual pre-Grammy tradition from MusiCares, the charitable wing of the Recording Academy that raises money to help musicians in need.  Past honorees include Dolly Parton......
Latin artists marginalized at Grammys... again

Latin artists marginalized at Grammys... again

Los Angeles (AFP) - Each time the nominations for a showbiz awards show are rolled out, there are accusations of "snubs" -- but the Recording Academy's history of sidelining Latin music artists seems more pattern than fluke. This year, not one Latin musician earned a Grammy nod in the Big Four categories, which celebrate the year's top album, record, song and new artist. Some critics voiced surprise at the slight, one year after reggaeton megastar Bad Bunny made history with the first Spanish-language work nominated for Album of the Year, which lent hope that the Academy was waking up to Latin......
