MS NOW's Jen Psaki was left flabbergasted by the debut of President Donald Trump's new White House press secretary, conspiracy theorist Katie Zacharia.

Psaki, herself a former press secretary for the Biden administration, kicked off her segment with a brief grading of Zacharia's first performance. "I am just going to start tonight by saying something that I never thought I would ever say: Karoline Leavitt, wherever you are out there, I miss you," she said.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is making America a national embarrassment, MS NOW's Jen Psaki warned on Friday's edition of "The Briefing."

The main issue this time: his plan to have a man shot by firing squad on livestream — a plan even some Republicans are coming out against.

"In case you missed it, yesterday, the Pentagon announced that they want to hold a public execution of the Fort Hood shooter," said Psaki, adding that he wants it "livestreamed on the internet for the world to see." She played a clip of him justifying it....

"You know that feeling ... when you buy a cute pair of shoes or something like that you saw on Instagram, and then they show up and you wear them for a day or two, and they're just not what you hoped they'd be?" Psaki said. "Or when you buy a movie ticket and halfway through the show, you think to yourself, 'Oh, I should have stayed home or maybe gone to see a different movie?'"

This is exactly the sort of thing many Trump supporters are feeling, Psaki said, as they are "entering their very own buyer's remorse era."...

MS NOW host Jen Psaki revealed that FBI Director Kash Patel wasn't shy about his drinking in the past — before he was the agency's top leader — sharing a video highlighting multiple moments where he openly talked about it.

Patel, who testified in a hearing on Tuesday before the Senate Appropriations Committee in Washington, D.C., faced questions about allegations of heavy alcohol use following reports of misconduct and footage of him chugging and spraying beer in the locker room at the Olympics with the U.S. Men's Hockey team after they won the gold medal in Milan, Italy.

"Patel has spent a lot of time and energy denying these specific stories about his alleged drinking," Psaki said. "But we already know a good deal about his drinking habits from public accounts and things he said publicly."...

MS NOW's Jen Psaki blasted First lady Melania Trump for her "self-important way" of reigniting the Jeffrey Epstein saga by delivering a rare statement denying involvement with the former financier and convicted child abuser.

Psaki explained how the timing of Melania's comments were unclear, especially since there is evidence of a social relationship between Melania, her husband Donald Trump, Epstein, and his conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, whom Melania had emailed multiple times, according to documents released by the Justice Department.

A former advisor to Barack Obama and Joe Biden has suggested Donald Trump is "out of the loop" on his own administration.

Jen Psaki, who appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, was asked whether Trump is "out of the loop" on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's actions. Psaki, who was an advisor to both Obama and Biden during their presidencies, has suggested Trump does not have a grasp on what is going on throughout his administration, let alone in the war room.

Colbert asked, "You worked for two Commanders-in-Chief and I'm just curious when you look at the various ways that these strikes on these boats, these alleged drug boats, that when these strikes have been originally reported and ordered."...
