Former Republican strategist Rick Wilson Friday responded to a bleak new jobs report and how he expected President Donald Trump to react to the news.

The Lincoln Project co-founder warned in his Substack that Trump and his administration would attempt to spin the report, which showed the worst year for job gains outside of recession since 2003.

"If you like your economic data served with a side of pure fiction, this is your week," Wilson wrote. "The administration is touting numbers that look like they were generated by a random number generator in a MAGA hat. They claim the 'Big Beautiful Bill' is fixing everything, but the reality is a landscape of hidden tariff taxes and a debt clock that’s spinning so fast it’s about to catch fire."...

President Donald Trump has claimed the United States is the "hottest" country and touted the economy as the greatest it's ever been — but he had a different message on Friday and tried to claim the recent jobs report numbers were inaccurate.

Trump appeared to face the rising unemployment rate and shared a few excuses to justify why he thinks the job market has struggled following the November jobs report that hinted at a weakening labor market.

A Donald Trump pledge to fork over a $10,000 bonus to certain air traffic controllers has been blasted as "counterproductive".

The president claimed that those who had worked through the government shutdown would be rewarded for their service. This was denounced by the National Air Traffic Controllers Association at the time, who suggested just 311 of its more than 10,000 members would receive said bonus.

For those that did nothing but complain, and took time off, even though everyone knew they would be paid, IN FULL, shortly into the future, I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU."...
