CNN pundit Jonah Goldberg struggled to make sense of the Trump administration's threat against late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

Kimmel revealed upon his return to "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday that he interviewed James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Texas, but ABC, the home of Kimmel's show, pulled the interview and will air it on YouTube instead because of fears about the FCC's threat to late-night hosts over equal airtime for political candidates.

Goldberg, a veteran conservative political analyst, said that the Trump administration's threat didn't make sense and tore into the move during a Thursday roundtable discussion on CNN....

A CNN panel broke into laughter as a former Trump lawyer tried to defend recent revelations of the president's self-enrichment.

William Brennan spoke on The Arena with a panel led by CNN anchor Kasie Hunt, and he offered a defense for Trump profiting from his cryptocurrency ventures while serving as president. Earlier this week, The New York Times revealed that Trump has reeled in more than $1.4 billion in revenue from crypto.

"This may have the appearance of impropriety," Brennan said about Trump's enrichment. "But before people accuse him of actually, you know, selling his office or actual impropriety, some type of proof should be there."...

Conservative commentator Jonah Goldberg had a sharp response Monday to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller's unfounded claims that local and state police should "stand down" and "surrender" to ICE agents.

Goldberg was on a CNN panel responding to Miller's comments on X that alleged police in Minneapolis — where ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed mother Renee Good in her car this month — have allowed protesters to do whatever they want.

"First of all, on the Stephen Miller thing, I've read the Constitution a couple of times. Nowhere in there does it say that the White House deputy chief of staff can order local law enforcement in a sovereign state to do — I almost cursed — anything, and it's all not like maybe I missed some reporting that there has been some order or request made from federal authorities," Goldberg said. ...
