Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) ripped President Donald Trump for lying about the investigation into the Jan. 6 riots when he spoke to supporters in Emancipation Hall following his inauguration on Monday.

Trump spoke "off the cuff" to those who gathered but couldn't attend his speech in the Capitol Rotunda. He told supporters there were many things he wanted to say in that speech but was advised against it.

"I was going to talk about the J6 hostages. But, you'll be happy, because, you know, it's action, not words that count. And you're going to see a lot of action on the J6 hostages," Trump said about the Capitol rioters he has pledged to pardon or whose sentences he wants to commute....

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), whom Donald Trump has threatened to jail over her role in the Jan. 6 investigation into his alleged election subversion, touted the release of the J6 report and questioned whether Republicans would give their "loyalty to a tyrant" by blindly supporting the president-elect.

The DOJ released special counsel Jack Smith's report shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday, after Trump fought tooth-and-nail to prevent it from going public.

In the report, Smith concluded that "If Donald Trump hadn’t won the presidential election in November, the Justice Department would have had ample evidence to convict him at trial of trying to obstruct the 2020 election results," according to The Washington Post....

Donald Trump joined in on the election analysis Sunday by weighing in on how he thinks Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign made a "big mistake."

Trump, who defeated Harris by sweeping all seven battleground states, took to Truth Social over the weekend to offer his perspective on what was the vice president's downfall.

Specifically, the former and incoming president gave a scathing indictment of Democrats' decision to involve Republican Liz Cheney in the campaign. ...

New audio shows former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney endorsing Kamala Harris for president, citing the "danger" posed by former President Donald Trump and saying the country doesn't have the "luxury" to write in a third candidate.

Cheney, who is the daughter of former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney, made the endorsement at a Duke University public policy event, audio posted Wednesday evening on X.

"Because we are in North Carolina I think it is crucially important for people to recognize not only is what I just said about the danger that Trump poses, something that should prevent people from voting for him, but I don't believe that we have the luxury of writing in candidates names, particularly in swing states," Cheney told an auditorium. "As a conservative and someone who believes and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump but I will be voting for Kamala Harris."...

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R- WY) called out Donald Trump on Sunday, showing the former president exactly why he is "not fit for office."

Cheney was responding to a report that Trump shared a picture calling Cheney "guilty of treason" and saying she should be prosecuted in "televised military tribunals."

"Elizabeth Lynne Cheney is guilty of treason," the reposted image says. "Retruth if you want televised military tribunals." ...

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) shredded Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in a post on X for bending the knee to former President Donald Trump as he met with GOP lawmakers in his first appearance on Capitol Hill since the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Images taken from Trump's meeting, where he pitched his vision for a second term, showed him exchanging a "fist bump" with the Republican Senate leader — an unusually cordial interaction after Trump spent months attacking him on social media, and even threatening to end his career.

"Mitch McConnell knows Trump provoked the violent attack on our Capitol and then 'watched television happily' as his mob brutally beat police officers and hunted the Vice President," wrote Cheney. "He knows Trump refused for hours to tell his mob to leave and 'even then with police officers bleeding…he kept repeating his election lies and praising the criminals.' He knows Trump committed a 'disgraceful dereliction of duty' and is a danger to our Republic."...
