Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) claimed on Monday that people in California were dumpster diving for ballots after Republicans saw a serious setback in the Los Angeles mayor race and votes continued six days after the primary.

The MAGA lawmaker made the unfounded fraud remarks during a Newsmax interview, commenting on the ongoing ballot count in California and responding to the GOP's frustration as former reality TV star and GOP candidate Los Angeles mayor candidate Spencer Pratt slipped out of the runoff race, placing third behind incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman.

"Some people can just dig through garbage cans, find ballots and send them in apparently forever after an election is over. It's not OK, it's got to come to an end and people need to go jail," Fine said. ...

Spencer Pratt, former reality TV star turned Republican Los Angeles mayoral candidate, confirmed that he lost millions — and shared his reason why, TMZ reported on Tuesday.

Pratt was a guest on the "No Jumper" podcast on Monday when he defended his goals to be famous and how he lost $10 million in his 20s, at the height of his reality television career. The former star of "The Hills" and MAGA-friendly candidate has challenged incumbent Mayor Karen Bass for the top city job, arguing that Bass has misused taxpayer funding and describing what led him to lose part of his own fortune amid criticism over his spending, according to TMZ.

"I had great dinners, I treated a lot of friends," Pratt said....

Drew Carey, host of "The Price Is Right," fired off his criticism of MAGA star and former reality TV personality Spencer Pratt, The Daily Beast reported on Monday.

Carey made his opinion known of the Los Angeles mayoral candidate in a post on Threads.

"Anyone who votes for, or endorses Spencer Prattfall for Mayor of LA needs to get their head out of their a--. I understand being angry/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass. F--- this guy already," Carey wrote....

A former Republican strategist admitted that a GOP mayoral candidate and former reality TV star might not win his election, but the "AI-generated Gotham-grade dystopia" he's created has "changed the game" for future political ads.

Rick Wilson, co-founder of the anti-Trump organization The Lincoln Project, described in his Substack on Friday how Spencer Pratt's decision to specifically message around crime during his Los Angeles mayoral campaign is something Democrats should pay attention to.

"Pratt’s message, delivered with a comic, postmodern AI flourish, is…and I cannot believe I’m typing this about a Hills alum…quite frankly very well done. It’s not an endorsement; it’s an observation," Wilson wrote....

MAGA Los Angeles Mayor candidate and former reality TV star Spencer Pratt has claimed that death threats prompted him to check into a famed hotel and apparently ditch his trailer, raising questions among his critics.

Pratt, who lost his home in the Pacific Palisades during the devastating January 2025 fire, has claimed throughout his campaign that he lives in a trailer on the property with his family. But TMZ reported on Wednesday that he's now staying at the posh Bel Air Hotel while his wife, TV personality Heidi Montag, has been living in Carpinteria, a coastal town just north of Los Angeles County, with their two children.

TMZ asked Pratt to clarify his comments about living in an Airstream, which he has claimed he and his family lived in during an attack video targeting Democratic candidates in the mayor's race....

An activist was sounding the alarm over the Los Angeles mayoral race and how incumbent Mayor Karen Bass could be repeating a strategy for MAGA-approved former reality TV star Spencer Pratt — a similar move that ended up costing Hillary Clinton the election against Donald Trump.

Adam Conover, a comedian known for both his jokes and political commentary, offered his views of the upcoming election in Los Angeles and why the stakes were so high.

"There's something really dangerous happening in the LA mayor's race and a lot more people need to be talking about it," Conover said. "So you guys are familiar with how Hillary Clinton boosted Donald Trump's candidacy in 2016 in the primary because she thought it would help her win the general, right? We all know how that turned out. Well Karen Bass is doing the same thing in Los Angeles this year." ...
