MAGA candidate’s cringeworthy dance video branded ‘most embarrassing post of all time’

A Republican's AI-generated video showing her dancing to Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" has critics cringing, with one calling it the most embarrassing post ever.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), who is running for governor of Tennessee, posted the video Tuesday to her campaign account, @VoteMarsha, with the caption "Tomorrow. Ready to roll." The clip uses AI to depict Blackburn dancing in a way that mimics Lamar's 2025 Super Bowl halftime performance. She appears to be dancing alongside state Sen. Brent Taylor, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) and Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN), who are all on the state's Republican ticket for the midterms, as well as former Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs dressed as Kane, his former wrestling persona.

The account for The Tennessee Holler, a progressive news site founded by former Democratic congressional candidate Justin Kanew, pointed out that the video borrowed from a performance many conservatives loudly complained about....

'Marsha, Marsha, Marsha': GOP senator Blackburn overwhelmed by mockery after Trump comment

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn was inundated with mockery after she posted a simple pro-Donald Trump message on her social media.

Blackburn, a Republican and an ally to Trump, has had problems appealing to some of Trump's base fans. In July of last year, Trump himself posted that she was "a fantastic Senator for the Great State of Tennessee," and got pushback from his MAGA supporters.

It is possible that this past friction is what led Blackburn on Friday to take to Facebook and write, "America is back," without any additional context. ...

'I disagree': Trump supporters reject ex-president's call to vote for Republican senator

Donald Trump is thought by many to have a cult-like hold on most of his MAGA base, but his recent endorsements have drawn ire from those who wear his hats and follow his every move. The latest catalyst for this outpouring of criticism was a Sunday message about Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).

Trump late Saturday issued a double endorsement of Arizona congressional candidates Blake Masters and Abe Hamadeh. That endorsement resulted in several negative comments to Trump from his supporters, including one user who was wearing a MAGA hat in his profile picture, telling Trump to "get off the fence." Another Trump supporter wrote, "Booo."

The next day, Trump again took to Truth Social to make a plea to supporters to cast a particular vote. ...

GOP lawmaker says fellow Republicans are compromised by sex workers and drugs

A Tennessee Congressman warns that fellow Republicans in the House of Representatives have been lured into honeytraps with sex workers and drugs changing the way they vote, he said this week.

“If it's women, drugs, booze, it will find you in D.C. and in most elected offices,” Rep. Tim Burchett told podcaster Benny Johnson. “That’s what people, power and influence do.”

As Burchett tells it, Republicans aren’t backing important efforts, such as Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s crusade for Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs, because they’re being bullied by big backers and Russians. ...

We asked 12 U.S. senators if they — like Bob Menendez — stockpile gold bars and cash stacks at home

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) pleaded not guilty to bribery in New York today after allegedly pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, gold bars and a sleek Mercedes-Benz.

At a press conference this week, the senator refused to resign and explained that the close-to-$500,000 in cash stuffed in his clothes was his rainy day fund, legally withdrawn from his bank — although he didn’t elaborate on where the upward of $100,000 in gold came from, let alone the black Benz.

So, are piles of cash and gold just a normal part of life in the secretive club that is the United States Senate?...
