Former Vice President Mike Pence tore into President Donald Trump this weekend over the president's decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel. Pence called the move “a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.”

“President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense,” Pence wrote on X.

He accused Trump of “fueling the Putin’s war machine” instead of “implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact.”...

So many who worked in the Trump White House learned they were axed through tweet or television.

Just ask Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who was replaced by Mike Pompeo via tweet. Or FBI Director James Comey finding out he was a civilian when watching the news while he was set to address Los Angeles FBI staffers.

Donald Trump's second attempt at the White House is terrifying because of who the former president might install into power, former Homeland Security Adviser to Mike Pence, Olivia Troye, said Saturday.

Troye appeared on MSNBC, where she was asked what is "concerning" her most about the potential for a second Trump presidency.

"Honestly," Troye, said, "just think about who he will place in his cabinet." ...

Former Vice President Mike Pence and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy engaged in a shouting match over who’s a communist during Wednesday night's Republican presidential debate.

“I have a newsflash, the U.S.S.R. doesn’t exist anymore,” Ramaswamy said after Pence suggested it’s in the United States’ interest to support Ukraine amid the Russian invasion.

Twenty-four hours before he is slated to appear before a federal judge in Washington, D.C. to be arraigned on four felony charges related to his alleged efforts to remain in office despite the results of the 2020 election, Donald Trump alleged his then-Vice President, Mike Pence, had the power to help him overturn that election.

As The New York Times notes, special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment accuses Trump of “three conspiracies: one to defraud the United States; a second to obstruct an official government proceeding, the certification of the Electoral College vote; and a third to deprive people of a civil right, the right to have their votes counted. Mr. Trump was also charged with a fourth count of obstructing or attempting to obstruct an official proceeding.

In court on Thursday Trump will be arraigned. It is possible he could appear virtually. He likely will plead “not guilty.”...

Former President Donald Trump and many of his allies at think tanks like the far-right Heritage Foundation have been quietly working on a plan to rip up legal guardrails checking the power of the executive branch should he win in 2024, and massively elevate the power of his presidency to reshape and direct every cogwheel of the federal government.

But one Republican is calling out this plan as dangerous: his own former vice president, Mike Pence, who is running for president himself in competition with his one-time boss, USA TODAY reported on Friday.
