President Donald Trump on Thursday revealed why he closes his eyes during long cabinet meetings — he was bored.

Trump maintained that he wasn't sleeping, but instead, he was just closing his eyes during the cabinet meeting and press conference at the White House, The Daily Beast reported.

“The last time we had a press conference, it lasted for three hours, and some people said he closed his eyes. Look, it got pretty boring,” Trump said....

The internet noticed that President Donald Trump was struggling to keep his eyes open — again — during a White House meeting on Wednesday.

Trump was caught getting sleepy during a signing ceremony for the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act in the Oval Office, where he was surrounded by a group of lawmakers, cabinet members and advocates for the dairy industry.

Several people had comments about the president's demeanor following an announcement earlier this month that meetings would be shortened after aides revealed concerns over fallout about Trump dozing off on camera....

The Bulwark reporter Joe Perticone reports even Republican senators are acknowledging President Donald Trump’s public naps at events.

“When President Donald Trump appeared to be dozing off during a cabinet meeting last week, it naturally raised the issue of whether the 79-year-old grandfather still has the basic physical ability to handle the rigors of the presidency. Even the New York Times noticed, and not just in the opinion pages,” wrote Perticone. “Trump’s eyes were closed for a cumulative six minutes over the course of the meeting — often as his cabinet members showered him with praise.”

Perticone acknowledged that older people are prone to napping, but since former President Joe Biden’s waning stamina became such a frequent Republican talking point, he quizzed lawmakers about their own nap-prone president....

A CNN reporter said that President Donald Trump was apparently unnerved over questions about his health during a three-hour cabinet meeting on Tuesday, where he was caught snoozing.

Jamie Gangel described how Trump, 79, was captured dozing off on camera, closing his eyes and nodding off, while he and administration officials took press questions.

"I would just say he's very sensitive about it, there's no question," Gangel said, adding that Trump spoke directly about reports of his health during the meeting....

The Sleepy Don is reportedly still nodding off in court.

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman confirmed that she's seen with her own eyes while inside the courtroom that former President Donald Trump is catching Zs while seated in a lower Manhattan trial while prosecutors put on their evidence before the jury.

"Sometimes he is sleeping," the Pulitzer award-winning reporter said during an appearance on CNN's "The Source.. "I know there's this huge sleeping debate... of our time."...
