Mockery erupts over Trump's 'confused ramblings' on rejecting war-ending deal

Critics mocked President Donald Trump's defense of rejecting Iran's ceasefire proposal, which he said would reopen a strait he claims to already control.

Trump made the remarks Saturday while speaking with reporters as he departed the White House, telling them he had turned down Tehran's latest offer because it would open the Strait of Hormuz right away.

"I'm rejecting their deal," Trump said. "They want to make a deal where they open the strait immediately...we're winning tremendously. We have total control of the Hormuz Strait...that deal would not be acceptable."...

Strait of Hormuz to become US territory 'pretty soon': Trump

President Donald Trump said he would declare the Strait of Hormuz as a United States territory during a speech on Friday.

Trump was speaking at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence in Garden City, New York, where he was touting his crackdown on crime and campaigning at a rally with Republican gubernatorial candidate and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.

He claimed Iran was "being badly defeated." ...

'Worst case scenario' likely as ships trapped by Trump's war could spur 'super spreader'

Stalled ships near the Strait of Hormuz amid President Donald Trump's Iran war threaten more than just oil markets as scientists warn idling vessels could trigger an invasive species "super-spreader event," according to reports on Tuesday.

More than 1,500 ships have sat idle in the trade channel since the conflict began on Feb. 28 and experts revealed that organisms growing on hulls and hitchhiking on the vessels could devastate global ecosystems once trade resumes, USA Today reported.

"If you had to sort of design a worst-case scenario, it would look a lot like this," Mario Tamburri, a professor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science and the study’s lead author, told USA Today. "It’s a perfect storm."...

Trump's 'nonsense' betrayed his late loyalist's last crusade: ex-GOP operative

A former Republican strategist blasted President Donald Trump and his "vandals" for betraying Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-SC) last crusade with "nonsense."

During an episode of The Warning, Steve Schmidt talked about how Trump is "putting a great deal of money" into Russian President Vladimir Putin's pockets with the Iran war. Late senior Sen. Lindsey Graham had just come back from Ukraine and, as Schmidt noted, was ready to propose sanctions against Russia when he died.

"Lindsey Graham, a few hours before his death, was talking about his Russia sanctions bill," Schmidt said. "When Donald Trump launched his war with Iran, global oil prices spiked, putting a great deal of money into whose pocket? That's right, Vladimir Putin's pocket."...

'It's nuts!' Trump backing down from his latest 'disaster' raises red flags for Dem

A Democratic lawmaker had a sharp critique for the Trump administration on Tuesday after President Donald Trump opted to back off plans to charge fees in the Strait of Hormuz.

During a live segment with CNN anchor Boris Sanchez, Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) responded to Trump's decision change after the United States was mounting its military offensive in the region and preparing to restart its blockade of the waterway, facing pressure from several Gulf nations who have since offered to invest in the U.S.

"It's not a major reversal; it's Donald Trump's daily reversal," Crow said. "Literally, this changes by the day. One time the strait is open, the next day it's closed. One day we're going to charge a toll, the next day we're not. The next day, we signed a peace deal, an MOU. The next day we don't. This is what happens."...

Erin Burnett throws Trump's words back in his face during scathing supercut

CNN anchor Erin Burnett dropped a blistering supercut during her live broadcast on Monday, pointing to multiple times when President Donald Trump claimed to have "eviscerated" Iran's military.

The clips revealed multiple instances where Trump discussed the Iran war and made explosive remarks. Burnett raised several questions about the ongoing conflict and questioned the president after Trump announced the United States would strike Iran for the third night in a row and said the military was "taking over" the Strait of Hormuz.

"The White House told Congress that the U.S. is targeting missile launch sites, air defenses, military maritime assets, military support infrastructure and command and control capabilities, which is quite an extensive list," Burnett said. "And it does raise a really important question, because isn't this what Trump has already said again and again and again was already accomplished by his 136-day war? After all, Trump has claimed all those things that I listed have been wiped out and eviscerated, destroyed by the U.S."...
