Trump threatens to put Rupert Murdoch on the stand: 'An interesting experience!'

Donald Trump doubled-down on his threat to sue The Wall Street Journal over its bombshell story on his intimate relationship with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

On Truth Social, the president posted Friday, "I look forward to getting Rupert Murdoch to testify in my lawsuit against him and his 'pile of garbage' newspaper, the WSJ. That will be an interesting experience!!!"

Murdoch is the media-magnate owner of the WSJ, Fox News, and hundreds of other outlets....

Tucker Carlson shares eye-popping request from ex-Fox News bosses after ouster

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson claimed Tuesday that his shock firing wasn't the last of his dealings with the powerful Murdoch family.

Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch reportedly fired Carlson — arguably the network's biggest star — over his conspiratorial coverage of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, in which he blamed government agents for provoking the attack.

A lawsuit by former producer Abby Grossberg accusing Carlson of harassment and retaliation was also reportedly a factor in the host's firing. Fox denied Grossberg's allegations but settled with her for $12 million....

Experts suspect Clarence Thomas fears Trump will replace him with 'hack'

Speculation abounds as to whether 76-year-old Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas will retire anytime soon, paving the way for President Donald Trump to appoint a justice openly willing to carry out his agenda, Newsweek reported.

Experts began discussing the idea more fervently after Trump picked a fight with the conservative Federalist Society and its co-founder Leonard Leo over the current justices failing to fall in line.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote that he was was "'disappointed' by 'the bad advice' the society had given him on judicial nominations during his first term."...

Trump official rakes in $280M tax free with 'ethics agreement': report

President Donald Trump's commerce secretary Howard Lutnick is emulating his boss by transferring away "his ownership interests in multiple affiliated companies" to trusts that will benefit his adult children, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

Lutnick, a billionaire, served as chairman and chief executive of financial-services firm Cantor Fitzgerald until he was appointed to Trump's cabinet in February.

In keeping with "a government ethics agreement," Lutnick created the trusts to benefit sons Brandon Lutnick and Kyle Lutnick, "as well as Lutnick’s other adult children."...

'Thumbing their nose': Judges warn of 'serious' crackdown as White House lawyers irritate

A new report in The Wall Street Journal says federal judges are facing "increasing irritation" when dealing with Trump administration lawyers because they're unsure of the accuracy of the information they're getting before making important rulings.

The consequences of the government's waning credibility "could be serious—both for the administration, which might see its odds of prevailing on close questions diminish before judges who lack confidence in government representations, and for the judiciary, should lip service to court orders become an acceptable norm," the report said.

Correspondent Jess Bravin wrote that the latest test is expected this week during a hearing on whether the White House is openly disregarding U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson's orders to stop dismantling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. ...

'Yuck': Columnist conjures 'skeevy' image to deflate Musk theory

A Washington Post opinion editor cited Elon Musk's "skeevy approach to parenthood" to argue that the tech entrepreneur and father of 14 is not all that good with numbers.

David Von Drehle recounted a "copiously documented report in the Wall Street Journal" about Musk's desire to populate the planet that led to his lightbulb moment.

Musk's "growing concern that only an army of paid surrogates can produce enough of his babies to populate the 'legion' required to stave off the 'apocalypse" was one big red flag, according to Von Drehle....
