MAGA in frenzy as DHS shutdown leaves angry Americans stuck in airport chaos

Hours-long passport queues and hold-ups as a result of the government shutdown have left the GOP livid — and members are now trying to blame the Democratic Party.

The partial shutdown has seen an increase in wait times for travelers, with the official Homeland Security X account posting a video of hundreds of people queued up. They wrote, "SECURITY LINES OUT THE DOOR. Americans are now missing their flights because of the Democrats' shutdown of DHS.

"Their political stunt is forcing patriotic TSA officers to work without pay — leading to financial hardship, absences, and crippling staffing shortages. Enough is enough: Democrats must fund DHS NOW."...

'All that glitters is not gold': Trump's shiny new scheme brutally mocked

President Donald Trump's latest scheme got a brutal mocking on social media after months of imposing harsh regulations on visas, a looming social media policy for tourists, and anti-immigrant remarks.

Trump on Wednesday revealed that his "Trump Gold Card," which allows wealthy foreigners to effectively purchase residency in the United States for $1 million — with a $15 million DHS processing fee — was now available on the government's website. The policy is intended to replace the existing EB-5 immigrant investor visa program, which allows foreign entrepreneurs to apply for a U.S. work permit if they either invest $800,000 in the U.S. economy or create at least 10 U.S. jobs. The upcoming platinum card is slated to cost $5 million.

'We're doing so well!' Trump shrugs off concerns he killed tourism with new crackdown

President Donald Trump on Wednesday shrugged off criticism that he's harming tourism after the administration announced a new rule that tourists would be required to give their social media history.

A reporter on Wednesday asked Trump, following a roundtable discussion at the White House, if he was concerned about a decline in tourism next year following the announcement of the new policy. Under the new rule, international travelers would have to provide their social media history over the last five years.

"No, we're doing so well. We just want people to come over here and safe," Trump said. "We want safety, we want security, we want to make sure we're not letting the wrong people come into our country. We're getting rid of a lot of bad ones from jail, from mental institutions, drug dealers, we're getting a lot of bad people. "...

'No way we're going back': Canadians are flying just about anywhere but the US

'No way we're going back': Canadians are flying just about anywhere but the US

Canadians are still boycotting travel to the United States and say there's "no way we're going back" while Donald Trump is in power.

10 months on from the start of Trump's second term and it seems Canadians are still being cautious about holidaying in the US. Both last-minute holidaymakers and planned breaks abroad see members of the public avoiding the States, as they instead head further afield for their trips. The number of Canadians returning from the US by car and plane in September dropped by a third compared to the same month last year, according to The Economic Times.

Canadian holidaymakers have since shed some light on why they are avoiding the US, with some fearing ICE Agents and rising travel costs. Nathalie Morisseau says the US is currently "not attractive" as a place to holiday in, and she even considers it "scary." She added, "With my father being Haitian, there’s a certain fear around being able to go to the United States."...

Trump slammed as 'un-American' for furious threat to punish unpaid workers

Trump slammed as 'un-American' for furious threat to punish unpaid workers

The head of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association has hit out at Donald Trump for asking staff to work unpaid.

In a post to Truth Social yesterday, Trump warned those who did not return to work following the end of the government shutdown would be punished. The president warned those who did not return to work immediately would have their pay "substantially docked" and some could even be replaced by "true patriots".

Trump took to Truth Social and wrote, "All Air Traffic Controllers must get back to work, NOW!!! Anyone who doesn’t will be substantially 'docked.' For those Air Traffic Controllers who were GREAT PATRIOTS, and didn’t take ANY TIME OFF for the 'Democrat Shutdown Hoax,' I will be recommending a BONUS of $10,000 per person for distinguished service to our Country....
