'We'll see who's left': Trump Cabinet warned of a possible January 'whacking'

"Shark Tank" investor and entrepreneur Kevin O'Leary on Thursday signaled that President Donald Trump will make decisions in the coming weeks to change his cabinet.

O'Leary told CNN's Kasie Hunt that the economy is a major pain point for Trump, whose polling dipped to its lowest yet, while the president's "road show" is a sign that he's looking ahead to the 2026 midterm elections in hopes of drumming up support from his base.

"And let's face it, this is the earliest anybody's gone on the road for the midterms, because that's exactly what he's doing. He's on the road pitching for the midterms," O'Leary said.

Inflation and tariffs are still something Americans want help with. And although O'Leary had originally said he was in favor of the Trump administration's changing trade and tariff policy, he argued that it could use some work.

"It's not yet perfect. And so more work to be done. But midterms, let's say, are 11 months away. And that's what's going to matter," O'Leary said.

"Rubber hits the road then, by the way. We'll see. We'll see who's left in the Cabinet at Jan. 31. If any whacking is going to occur within the policy cabinet, it'll be happening in January. The team that's going to go to the midterms will be defined on January 31. And as a policy guy and investor, that's all I care about," O'Leary added.

Security expert blasts Trump's 'cabinet of dunces' for posting on Twitter 'like you're 12'

National Security attorney Bradley Moss and international affairs specialist Tom Nichols took turns dumping on what they characterized as the mounting idiocy of officials working under President Donald Trump as the administration closes out its first year in office.

Moss was particularly furious that the administration was dumb enough to order a second strike on an upturned boat of noncombatants in the Caribbean, claiming — without evidence — that they were transporting drugs to the U.S., which is not an act of war.

“This is not … the ‘cabinet of rivals’ you would have thought of from the Lincoln days or even from Obama’s first term. This is the cabinet of dunces. These are a bunch of childish grown adults who are way too online saying things to generals like FAFO, as if they're my teenage daughter,” Moss said.

“No, you're a grown man. Act like a grown man being secretary of defense. Comply with the rules, comply with the law, and stop posting on twitter like you're 12.”

Nichols said voters owe the existence of so many imbeciles under one roof to a subservient Republican Party.

“I wrote at the beginning of this term that [Secretary of Defense Pete] Hegseth was the most dangerous and incompetent of all of the dangerous and incompetent appointees, but the list goes on, not just [FBI Director Kash] Patel and [Homeland Security head Kristi] Noam, but also [Robert F.] Kennedy and [Tulsi] Gabbard and so many others. I mean, this really is just a clown car,” Nichols said.

“The FBI used to strike terror into the hearts of our enemies on American soil. The soviets who were screwing around over here in the United States during the cold war really feared the FBI. Is anybody really afraid of Kash Patel?”

“These people shouldn't have been nominated,” Nichols said. “The real fault here lies with a GOP majority in the Senate that knew these people were incompetent. They knew it, and they absolutely enabled it because they didn't want to get sideways with Donald Trump. And now we're stuck with the fallout.”

Moss told MS NOW host Ali Velshi that his drink “almost came out of my nose” when FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino admitted to Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday that he lied for a living before Trump installed him at the FBI.

“I'm like, ‘are you serious? You just said that out loud?’ They're admitting what they were during the Biden years: they were paid shills. We know a whole lot of the social media influencers we discovered on the MAGA side who are effectively being paid by the Russians, whether or not they knew it was up for debate," Moss said.

"But they are there to be paid liars. They are not there to base anything on facts, or even objectively reasonable interpretations of facts. They're there to get clicks. They're there to make a massive propaganda style clip they can repeat all over twitter, Instagram, TikTok and monetize it. And now they're in government [whining] ‘oh, now I have to actually do things based on facts.’”
