'Bomb after bomb': CNN pundits rip into Trump's 'mean and small' WHCD speech

President Donald Trump's White House Correspondents' Dinner speech drew sharp criticism from CNN pundits immediately after it finished.

On Friday night, Trump delivered his first speech as president at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, and it took just over an hour. Shortly after it wrapped, CNN pundits tore into it, with conservatives even having trouble defending it.

"It just wasn't funny at all," political commentator Van Jones said. "It just wasn't funny. It was mean and small, but you could be mean and small and funny. This was mean and small and not funny."...

Trump's awkward World Cup stunt gets stinging review on CNN: 'It's like a curse'

Political commentator Van Jones on Monday suggested that President Donald Trump should keep his distance from the professional sports world.

Jones joined CNN anchor Erin Burnett and commentator Gretchen Carlson during a live segment to discuss Trump's appearance at the FIFA World Cup final, where he had an awkward moment standing on the stage as Spain celebrated its win over Argentina and was booed by the crowd.

"He's just not very popular," Jones said. "He just needs to stay out of sports. Anytime he gets involved with sports, something terrible happens. It's like a curse. The only time that the Knicks lost was when he showed up." Jones was referring to Game 3 of the NBA Finals in June that Trump attended at Madison Square Garden. ...

Fox News host walks back on-air attack against 'communist' — but doesn't apologize

Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy walked back a comment live on-air Monday after she called longtime television personality Van Jones a "communist."

Campos-Duffy took a moment during the broadcast to clarify what she said — and did not apologize for it.

"I said that Van Jones was a communist — I guess he’s a former communist just like Karen Bass says she used to be a communist but she was trained in the fields and in the youth brigade in Cuba. So we'll see. He says he's not a communist anymore. OK," she said....

CNN pundits deliver chilling warning about Trump's new pick: 'People can die in America'

Trump's latest appointment is baffling and extremely dangerous, a political commentator warned Tuesday evening on CNN.

Bill Pulte, a Trump loyalist and the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, was appointed as the acting Director of National Intelligence. Critics point out that he has no experience in intelligence, but Democratic political pundit Van Jones said it's worse than that.

"The main thing is something really bad could happen when you have people who are unprofessional, they're in there doing the wrong thing," Jones warned. "People can die in America."...

Trump brutally mocked on CNN over bizarre Gold Card sales claim: 'Guy might be dishonest'

A couple of political pundits broke into laughter when they heard President Donald Trump claim that he sold $1.3 billion worth of gold cards, his program to let people into the country for a fee of $1 million.

"Obviously he sold one gold card for $1.3 billion," political analyst Van Jones said while on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront" on Thursday, sarcastically adding: "I don't know why anybody thinks that this guy might be a dishonest person."

Jones and conservative anti-Trump television host S.E. Cupp were on the show reacting to a clip of the president asking Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick how much money the gold card had raised....

CNN commentator Van Jones says Trump's 'worst 3 weeks' showcase his 'pure narcissism'

CNN commentator Van Jones says Trump's 'worst 3 weeks' showcase his 'pure narcissism'

Donald Trump was indicted, convicted and shot at this year — and all of those events weren't as important to him as Vice President Kamala Harris outshining him, remarked CNN political commentator Van Jones, which he said highlights the former president's "pure narcissism."

Jones' comment came in response to a question on CNN's "The Source" in which he was asked whether Democrats ought to push back against Trump's repeating of false claims that he won the 2020 election.

"Here's something to observe about the psychology of this guy," said Jones. "The past three weeks have apparently been the worst three weeks of his campaign. 'The worst three weeks, the worst three weeks.' This year he was convicted — he was a convicted crook — he was indicted, to your point, shot at and actually hit by a bullet. All of those things are not as important as the past few weeks where somebody is getting more attention than him."...
