Trump's 'pathetic' tantrum over Supreme Court backs him into 'awkward' corner: author

President Donald Trump's furious reaction to losing at the Supreme Court shows he has trapped himself in an awkward political corner.

During a Tuesday episode of "Inside Trump's Head," longtime Trump biographer Michael Wolff said the president runs on conflict and is willing to cast even his own allies as enemies the moment they cross him.

"This is the thing that he always looks for. This is the conflict," Wolff said. "Today, the court is the enemy."...

Trump suffers major setback to 'unprecedented' election scheme

The Trump administration suffered a major setback in its attempt to block mail-in voting with a federal judge ruling against it.

On Tuesday, a federal judge blocked President Donald Trump's order forcing the U.S. Postal Service to reject certain ballots. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani from Massachusetts found the order unconstitutional because it came less than 90 days before the midterms and described the Trump order as an "unprecedented directive."

Talwani granted a preliminary injunction against the executive order, which would bar the USPS from transmitting ballots to voters whose names don't appear on state-submitted lists. She found that the administration never mounted a defense of the order itself....

'Dead on arrival': Legal expert floored by Trump's 'extraordinary' Supreme Court bid

A legal expert was stunned Monday as the Trump administration urged the Supreme Court to give President Donald Trump the path forward to alter mail-in ballot voting in the United States.

Michele Goodwin, professor of constitutional law at Georgetown University, told CNN that the Trump administration's move to push to restore an executive order after the Supreme Court ruled to block Trump's move to tighten rules for mail-in voting was "absolutely unprecedented."

"We've never seen an executive order like this Trump order," Goodwin said....

Trump's election security boogeyman revealed to be embedded across admin

A Democratic lawmaker revealed that the "software glitch" responsible for allowing illegal voter registrations in New Jersey was from a company that is used across the Trump administration.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) told CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Wednesday that the same company responsible for the glitch also works in federal agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration.

Gottheimer responded to the news announced by Democratic New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill and brought up a serious concern....

'Dangerous for democracy': Kalshi throws fit over Wisconsin law limiting election gambling

'Dangerous for democracy': Kalshi throws fit over Wisconsin law limiting election gambling

The online gambling platform Kalshi publicly condemned Wisconsin election officials for simply reminding voters that it is illegal under state law to wager on elections they are voting in.

In a statement, Meagan Wolfe of the Wisconsin Elections Commission issued a warning.

"We want voters to understand that they cannot legally make a bet on an election and cast a ballot in that same election," Wolfe said. "We are not able to police someone placing a bet on these platforms, but it's important for voters to understand the consequences if they bet on an election outcome."...

GOP senators revolt as Trump forces 'product that no one really likes' on them: report

President Donald Trump's push for voting restrictions is complicating an already troubled Iran war funding bill, according to the New York Times.

GOP senators are rejecting the idea of bolting strict new voting restrictions laid out in the SAVE Act onto a massive Iran war spending bill, imperiling its odds of survival, a new report reads. The report described the bill as "a product that no one really likes."

House Republican leaders unveiled a roughly $95 billion funding package this week that would steer up to $73 billion to the military, $12 billion to farmers, and $10 billion toward enforcing the voting overhaul that Trump has championed, the Times reported....
