President Donald Trump's Republican Party has been shifting, and younger voters have appeared to start questioning his demands, according to a new report on Tuesday.

The Bulwark editor at large William Kristol, a former chief of staff to Vice President Dan Quayle, described recent polling that shows Trump does have loyalists, but those followers are aging. He points to signs that a "fair number of young" MAGA voters could be "ready to defect from Trumpism."

"It is, as Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday, Trump’s party," Kristol wrote. "The new New York Times/Siena poll shows Trump with the approval of 37 percent of all Americans, with 59 percent disapproving. But 76 percent of Republicans and Republican learners continue to approve of their leader, with only 19 percent breaking ranks. What’s more, a majority of Republican voters still want their next presidential candidate to follow Trump’s lead rather than move in a new direction."...

Young Republicans' racist, homophobic and anti-semitic leaked text messages — are not surprising — but as a writer warns, "the texts degrade all of us," and signal a "larger atrocity" behind the MAGA movement.

In a piece Friday by The Atlantic's George Packer, the writer identifies just how this language and vitriol have made their way to the leaders of Young Republican groups, saying "I love Hitler" or joking about rape, gas chambers, and "watermelon people."

"To see only the varieties of bigotry with which we’re painfully familiar is to miss the depth of MAGA’s moral collapse. Professing love for Hitler is more than anti-Semitic—it’s antihuman. It’s a proud refusal to be bound by the most basic standard of goodness, a deliberate expression of contempt for everything decent. The texts degrade all of us," Packer writes....

State GOP leaders are reportedly planning to disband the New York State Young Republicans organization after leaked texts revealed a trove of racist, antisemitic and homophobic comments, including rape fantasies, and suggestions on how to drive their opponents to suicide.

The Young Republican National Federation has an active chapter in each state and is comprised of members ages 18 to 40, The Guardian reports.

“The Young Republicans was already grossly mismanaged, and vile language of the sort made in the group chat has no place in our party or its subsidiary organizations,” said Ed Cox, New York Republican chair, in a statement Friday. ...

A MAGA betrayal is heating up and now "young GOP leaders are fighting like rats in a sack over the alleged betrayal of one of their own," according to media reports.

Trump-appointed official Gavin Wax reportedly turned on his allies in the Young Republicans, allegedly obtaining the recent racist texts and leaking them after a feud over a photo opportunity with President Donald Trump, reported The Daily Beast.

Wax, who is the chief of staff in the Office of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the State Department, is now experiencing the fallout after the Politico report earlier this week detailing the Young Republican leaders' Telegram chats that included racist, antisemitic and homophobic comments, rape fantasies, and suggestions on how to drive their opponents to suicide....

The Congressional Black Caucus PAC is using a blackface scandal to link a MAGA Republican to the recent racist text leak furor involving young Republicans, according to reports.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) is the focus of the targeted five-figure ad called "Not for Us, which will air on YouTube and television in his district, Politico reports Thursday.

The ad will also mention Lawler's use of blackface while he was a college student. Lawler has said it was "an homage to pop star Michael Jackson." ...
