President Donald Trump revealed a new sign of his own decline as he's been out on the road holding rallies for Republicans, according to one analyst.
Last month, Trump promised to spend the last 30 days crisscrossing the country holding rallies to build GOP support ahead of the midterms, which some analysts have predicted could be a washout for Republicans. However, Trump has faced protests at nearly every rally and has at times seemed to rush through his material.
Terry Moran, a former ABC News correspondent, told Joanna Coles on a new episode of "The Daily Beast Podcast" that the rallies have also served as a reminder of how far Trump's decline has gone.
"He's not as sharp as he used to be on the stump," Moran said. "The rallies of 2016 were among the great improvisatory performances I've ever seen. He had an almost carnivorous sense of where the vulnerabilities and the excitement and the crowd, [and he] riffed them up."
Those days seem to be a thing of the past, Moran argued, as Trump has become more vulgar in his recent speeches. For instance, he often repeats the word "bulls---" when talking about Democratic policies.
"Now he drones and they're listening, and, I think, as a replacement, he's just cursing at him [hoping] that'll get a charge, to say the f word or whatever," Moran said.
