Waukesha parade suspect to be charged with 5 counts of intentional homicide

Darrell Brooks Jr., 39, has been arrested after he allegedly drove his SUV into a crowd of Christmas parade goers in suburban Milwaukee, killing at least five people and injuring 48. Reports say Brooks was fleeing the scene of a domestic dispute, although authorities say he was not fleeing police at the time the incident.

According to a report from the Associated Press, police will be charging Brooks with five counts of intentional homicide. The dead were identified as four women ages 52 to 79, and an 81-year-old man.

Books has been charged with 16 crimes since 1999 and had two outstanding cases against him at the time of the parade incident. In one case, he's accused of deliberately running down a woman with his vehicle.
