EU condemns Iran attack as 'grave threat to regional security'

Top EU officials have condemned the Iranian drone and missile attack on Israel. "The EU strongly condemns the unacceptable Iranian attack against Israel. This is an unprecedented escalation and a grave threat to regional security," wrote EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell on X. The president of the European Council, Charles Michel, also condemned the Iranian attack, and wrote: "Everything must be done to prevent further regional escalation. More bloodshed must be avoided."

Netanyahu says 'we will overcome all our enemies' amid Iran attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote that "Israel is strong" in a post on X just as the army first confirmed the Iranian drone and missile attack. "The State of Israel is strong, the IDF [Israeli Defense Forces] are strong, the people of Israel are strong," Netanyahu wrote on X, just four minutes before an army post saying that Iran had launched drones. "Together we will stand, and with God's help - together we will overcome all our enemies," he wrote.

Several dead in knife attack at Sydney shopping center

An attacker who fatally knifed six people in a Sydney mall was shot dead by police in Sydney's beachside suburb of Bondi on Saturday, police said, as hundreds fled the scene.

The assailant was shot by a police officer after he attacked shoppers in the busy Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre, police said in a statement.

Argentina court blames Iran for deadly 1994 bombing of Jewish center

Over three decades after deadly attacks in Buenos Aires targeted Israel's embassy and a Jewish center, an Argentine court placed the blame Thursday on Iran and declared it a "terrorist state," according to local media.
