Firedoglake's Eli coined the term "Eagleton Window":

You're all familiar with the concept of the Overton Window, wherein previously unthinkable ideas can gradually become acceptable, even "sensible"? Well, it looks like that very same phenomenon is happening with the previously unthinkable idea of a presidential candidate scrapping his running mate for the first time since 1972 - and we all know how well that turned out.

I think he had the right term, but with the wrong meaning: I'm starting to think the Palin nomination is all about how much hilarious shit the American public will be willing to eat as long as it comes from a Republican:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has billed taxpayers for 312 nights spent in her own home during her first 19 months in office, charging a "per diem" allowance intended to cover meals and incidental expenses while traveling on state business.

This is good news for John McCain.
