Biden: GOP audience booing gay soldier was 'reprehensible'

When asked about the at a recent Republican presidential debate, Vice President Joe Biden was nearly speechless Tuesday, something that does not happen very often.

"What did you think of the booing that went on the other day about the gay soldier?" The View's Joy Behar asked the vice president. "Did you have a visceral response to it?"

"I did have a visceral response," Biden replied. "I'm not sure if it's because my son spent a year in Iraq. I know my sons and the kids with his -- kids, they're grown men -- I don't think they give a damn whether a guy firing a rifle to protect them is gay or straight. I don't think they care about that. And, look, this kid risked his life. This kid is there for a year. I, quite frankly, I thought it was reprehensible."

"And no one spoke up," Behar noted. "That entire panel, not one person said anything."

Biden only looked down in silence but offered no response.
