On ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, the comedian decided to commemorate Twitter's sixth birthday by having some of his celebrity comedian friends read tweets about themselves, even if they hurt.

"One of the most interesting things about Twitter is it connects celebrities directly to their fans and vice versa," Kimmel said when introducing the segment. "Your message goes right into their computer or their pocket, which can be good and it can also be bad. And we like to focus on the bad here at this show."

Celebrities, including Will Ferrell, Kristen Bell, Anna Farris, Kevin Nealon, Kathy Griffin, and Joel McHale, read real tweets that tended toward the critical, set, of course, to R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts."

"'Joel McHale is a huge d-bag,'" McHale read from his phone. "You couldn't spell 'douche'? You have 140 characters."

"If you change the 'i' in Anna Farris' last name to a 't', you get 'Anna Farts'. Interesting," Anna Farris read with more composure than a comedian is typically expected to read the word "farts."

Kriston Bell read, "@IMKristinBell is so fucking ugly. Way too ugly to play snow white in snow white & the hunstman." The only way to describe Bell's reaction is LOLSOB. (Snow White in "Snow White and the Hunstman" is played by Kristen Stewart.)

Farrell, in classic comedic form, read his tweet while sitting on the toilet. "Lol yo will Farrell fucking dum," he read.

Throughout the bit, the f-word is pixelated and bleeped out. This is, after all, network television.
