Police in Tinley Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, are investigating flyers promoting the Ku Klux Klan which appeared in some of the town's driveways this week. The Chicago Tribune reported that at least five residences were targeted.

Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Vaccaro told the Tribune that the flyers were found on Monday morning. Each was attached to a candy cane and read, in part, "You can sleep tonight knowing the Klan is awake!"

Police are calling the leafleting a "suspicious circumstance." So far, they said, no crime has been committed.

“We’ve had absolutely no other incidents other than this of a racial or hate-crime nature,” Vaccaro said, indicating that the flyers are an instance of someone "goofing off" rather than an actual bulletin from the racist vigilante group.
