Fox News host Shepard Smith said Tuesday that President Donald Trump was wrong about who will be blamed if the health care system in the United States breaks down.

After Senate Republicans failed to pass legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, Trump said his plan was now to "to let Obamacare fail."

"I think we're probably in that position where we'll just let Obamacare fail. We're not going to own it. I'm not going to own it. I can tell you the Republicans are not going to own it," Trump said Tuesday in the White House.

"But politically, Trump does own it," Smith retorted. "Because voters gave them control of Washington. It was a central promise of Republicans' campaigns. For 8 years, they told constituents and voters give us control and we will repeal and replace Obamacare."
