Kansas City Chiefs’ Smith: Trump ‘couldn’t condemn violent neo-Nazis’ but he attacks black athletes
The Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Alex Smith said in an interview with the Kansas City Star newspaper on Sunday that he finds President Donald Trump’s attacks on NFL players and owner “disturbing” and finds it remarkable that Trump can so easily attack black athletes when he is painfully reluctant to condemn “violent neo-Nazis.”
“It’s the same guy who couldn’t condemn violent neo-Nazis. And he’s condemning guys taking a knee during the anthem,” Smith said, according to The Hill.
“There are bigger issues out there that he probably should be worried about. But for some reason the NFL is on his mind,” he continued.
