Hurricane Maria delivered a direct hit on Puerto Rico on Wednesday morning, as the category-4 hurricane hammered the island with winds in excess of 150 miles per hour.
CNN reports that Maria made landfall on the southeastern coast of Puerto Rico early on Wednesday, and meteorologist Derek Van Dam speculated that it "could potentially be the strongest hurricane to ever reach the shores of Puerto Rico."
Several videos of the storm hammering the capital city of San Juan have been posted around the web, and they show the storm blowing down trees and power lines while causing massive damage to property.
