An Oregon judge has ruled that Sweet Cakes by Melissa bakery in Portland will be forced to pay a $135,000 fine for refusing to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding, said KOIN Channel 6 on Thursday.

Aaron and Melissa Klein closed their bakery and appealed the fine — which they paid in 2015 but which has been held by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries since then.

However, a panel of three judges — Joel DeVore, Chris Garrett and Bronson James — ruled in favor of plaintiffs Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Pryor, whose 2013 wedding the Kleins refused to bake a cake for, sparking a national controversy.

Furthermore, the judges found that the Kleins intentionally inflicted emotional harm on the Bowman-Pryors by sharing their address and contact information online and urging Christians to bombard the couple with hate mail and try to have their children taken away.

MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Mika Brzezinski went off on an extended diatribe on Donald Trump and the White House for attempts to smear the reputation of Dr. Anthony Fauci based upon a report from NBC News.

According to the NBC report, "The White House is seeking to discredit Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country's leading infectious disease expert, as President Donald Trump works to marginalize him and his dire warnings about the shortcomings of the U.S. coronavirus response."

Using that as a jumping-off point, the "Morning Joe" host called the president "pathetic," and blamed the massive and resurgent spread of the coronavirus solely on the president's bungling of the government's response from day one.
