Michael Flynn Jr. retweets anti-Semitic conspiracy theory about Jews controlling the media

Michael Flynn Jr., a former Trump transition official and the son of disgraced former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, retweeted a conspiracy theory being promoted by right-wing activist Laura Loomer claiming that Jews control the media.

Loomer, who is Jewish herself, got the ball rolling on Thursday when she asserted that "Jews do control the banks... and the media" on her Twitter account.

When asked for proof of her claim, Loomer then rattled off a list of Jewish media CEOs -- which Flynn Jr. subsequently re-tweeted.

Fox boss Rupert Murdoch does not identify as Jewish, despite Loomer's assertion to the contrary, although conspiracy theorists have seized on the fact that his mother's original surname was "Greene" to claim that he secretly harbors deep Jewish roots.

Flynn Jr. later re-tweeted a controversial 2012 tweet from Murdoch himself that asked, "Why Is Jewish owned press so consistently anti- Israel in every crisis?"

Flynn Jr. has continued to be a lightning rod for controversy on social media, even after his father pleaded guilty earlier this year to lying to the FBI, while also agreeing to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.
