Dow drops as Donald Trump speaks (Fox News/screen grab)
Cable networks on Thursday appeared to be taking a jab at President Donald Trump by displaying graphics that depicted a plummeting stock market while he signed a presidential order for tariff's against China.
At a White House event on Thursday, the president slammed the U.S. trade deficit with China, and claimed it was the largest in the history of the world.
But as the president was speaking, the Dow Jones Industrial Average began to fall. CNN and MSNBC quickly had graphics up showing the drop as the president spoke. Fox News Channel and Fox Business eventually added stock market graphics to their broadcasts as well.
By the end of Trump's event, the Dow was down over 300 points.
