First Daughter and senior White House advisor Ivanka Trump is facing an angry backlash after a “tone deaf” post on Twitter drew attention to the federal government losing 1,500 children and separating parent from kids at the border, CNN reported Monday.
“It’s the timing of this tweet that is really generating so much criticism,” explained CNN White House reporter Sarah Westwood. “Because it comes, like you mentioned, amidst scrutiny of the administration’s policies letting the government separate children from their parents at the border.”
“It’s not the first time Ivanka Trump has been accused of insensitivity on social media,” Westwood added.
Here is some of the criticism, with video below:
Imagine posting this on the day the top news story is 1500 children ripped from their parents who have no idea when they'll see them again. https://t.co/0aKvOe3B8F

Personally I found this to be offensive when #WhereAreTheCHILDREN is on everyone’s mind!

How lucky that you get to do that with your children. Meanwhile, there are 1500 children that are missing their parents as a result of Daddy’s orders. The fact that you and other so-called leaders have stood idly by and done nothing speaks volumes.ADVERTISEMENT

Some people say this is tone deaf.
But this bitch knows exactly what she's doing. 1,500 migran children are missing and she's tweeting this. Just as evil and soulless as her father. https://t.co/HtNUROHLDyADVERTISEMENT

What a lovely sentiment to offer us as your father instructs federal agents to pull small children and infants from mothers and fathers, refusing to tell them where their parents are or when they will see them again. You're all heart, kiddo. https://t.co/VfA6NhkHDC

If you cared about kids, human dignity & and human rights, you would spend your #SundayMorning trying to find out: #WhereAreTheChildren ???#SilenceIsComplicity #gICEstapo #EndFamilySeparation https://t.co/z1W18bWSwN

What has the first daughter/White House adviser done about babies ripped from their mothers by @realDonaldTrump administration, based on a law that doesn't exist? Has the Trump-Kushner family shown a scintilla of compassion? Nope. Just contempt for decency, https://t.co/u6EnwhE7KU

Would you also love your Sunday if government authorities snatched away your sweet child and dragged him into a cold, dark detention facility?
