First Daughter and senior White House advisor Ivanka Trump is facing an angry backlash after a "tone deaf" post on Twitter drew attention to the federal government losing 1,500 children and separating parent from kids at the border, CNN reported Monday.

"It's the timing of this tweet that is really generating so much criticism," explained CNN White House reporter Sarah Westwood. "Because it comes, like you mentioned, amidst scrutiny of the administration's policies letting the government separate children from their parents at the border."

"It's not the first time Ivanka Trump has been accused of insensitivity on social media," Westwood added.
